3 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

Sunbeam Products, Inc. or if in Canada, Sunbeam Corporation (Canada) Limited (collectively “Sunbeam”) warrants that

for a period of three years from the date of purchase, this product will be free from defects in material and workmanship.

Sunbeam, at its option, will repair or replace this product or any component of the product found to be defective during

the warranty period. Replacement will be made with a new or remanufactured product or component. If the product is

no longer available, replacement may be made with a similar product of equal or greater value. This is your exclusive

warranty. Do NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions on this product. Doing so will void

this warranty.

This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of initial retail purchase and is not transferable.

Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is required to obtain warranty performance. Sunbeam dealers, service

centers, or retail stores selling Sunbeam products do not have the right to alter, modify or any way change the terms

and conditions of this warranty.

This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the following: negligent use or

misuse of the product, use on improper voltage or current, use contrary to the operating instructions, disassembly, repair

or alteration by anyone other than Sunbeam or an authorized Sunbeam service center. Further, the warranty does not

cover: Acts of God, such as fire, flood, hurricanes and tornadoes.

What are the limits on Sunbeam’s Liability?

Sunbeam shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by the breach of any express, implied

or statutory warranty or condition. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty or condition

of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the duration of the above warranty.

Sunbeam disclaims all other warranties, conditions or representations, express, implied, statutory or otherwise. Sunbeam

shall not be liable for any damages of any kind resulting from the purchase, use or misuse of, or inability to use the

product including incidental, special, consequential or similar damages or loss of profits, or for any breach of contract,

fundamental or otherwise, or for any claim brought against purchaser by any other party.

Some provinces, states or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or

limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusion may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from province to province,

state to state or jurisdiction to jurisdiction.

This device comes in various models (HAP9243, HAP9415, HAP9423), each equipped with Aer1® Allergen Remover Filter(s) and an optional ionizer feature. The air purifier is designed for continuous operation, offering different speed settings to suit various air purification needs.

Function Description

The primary function of the Holmes Aer1® Air Purifier is to clean the air by drawing in airborne particles and passing them through specialized filters. The device utilizes Aer1® Allergen Remover Filter(s), which are designed to capture a wide range of pollutants. The specific type of filter included with the unit, or chosen by the user, determines the primary purification focus.

The available filter types and their functions are:

Total Air Filter (HAPF30AT): Features 99% HEPA-Type technology infused with baking soda. It is ideal for dust reduction and aims to deliver 30% better air quality.
Odor Eliminator Filter (HAPF30AO): Offers 10 times the odor-fighting power, containing baking soda, carbon, and zeolite for effective odor control. This filter is best for eliminating odors from pets, tobacco smoke, and cooking fumes.
Allergen Remover Filter (HAPF300AH): Employs 99.97% True HEPA technology, removing up to 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, including pollen, dust, mold, and dander. It is specifically designed for allergy sufferers.
Allergen Performance Plus "D" Filter (HAPF300AP): Utilizes 99.99% True HEPA technology, removing up to 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, such as pollen, dust, mold, and dander. This filter also caters to allergy sufferers, offering enhanced performance.

An optional ionizer feature can be activated to further enhance air purification. When turned on, the ionizer releases negative ions into the filtered air. These negative ions attach themselves to very small airborne particles like dust, pollen, smoke, and pet dander, causing them to form larger particles. These larger, negatively charged particles are then more easily captured by the air purifier's filter system or may be attracted to positively charged surfaces in the home. The ionizer produces less ozone than UL established limits, but it is recommended to use it in well-ventilated areas with the fan on, especially if there are birds or small pets, to prevent ozone buildup.

Usage Features

The Holmes Aer1® Air Purifier is designed for straightforward operation with several user-friendly features:

Speed Control Settings: The device offers three speed settings: LOW (1), MEDIUM (2), and HIGH (3).
- LOW (1): Recommended for quieter operation, such as in a bedroom.
- MEDIUM (2): Recommended for optimum air filtration and continuous operation. The rugged motor is designed for many years of use at this setting.
- HIGH (3): Suitable for situations with high levels of air pollution, allowing for quick circulation and filtration of air in the room.
Ionizer Button: A dedicated button activates the optional ionizer. When pressed to "ON," the button illuminates in blue, indicating that the ionizer is active. The ionizer will only function when the unit is running.
Visipure® Filter Viewing Window: This transparent lens allows users to visually inspect the filter and monitor the amount of dirt collected. This feature helps determine when a filter replacement might be needed.

Filter Replacement:
- Frequency: Filters should be replaced after 12 months of operation for Allergen Remover and Allergen Performance Plus filters. Total Air, Odor, and Smoke Grabber filters typically last 4 months. The Visipure® Filter Viewing Window and Filter Reminder Dial help monitor filter condition and track usage.
- Procedure:
  1. Turn off and unplug the air purifier.
  2. Open the air inlet grill.
  3. Remove the black foam pre-filter. Wash it in warm soapy water, rinse, air dry, and place it back into the grill inlet.
  4. Remove the used Aer1® filter(s) by gently pulling them towards you. Do not attempt to wash or reuse Aer1® filters.
  5. Install the new Aer1® filter(s) into the unit, aligning the clips on the side of the filter(s) with the rails inside the purifier unit. Gently slide the filter(s) onto the rail.
  6. Replace the air inlet grill.
  7. Turn the Filter Reminder Dial to select the current month to mark the replacement.
- Important Notes: Do not wash or reuse Aer1® filters. If filters are enclosed in plastic bags, remove them before use. Filter life varies depending on air quality and usage.
Cleaning the Unit:
- Exterior: The outside of the air purifier can be cleaned with a soft, clean, damp cloth.
- Air Inlet Grill: The air inlet grill can be removed and washed in warm soapy water (not dishwasher safe). It should be dried before re-installing.
- Filtered Air Outlet: Dust can be cleaned from the filtered air outlet with a small, soft brush.
- Inside Filter Chamber: If cleaning the inside filter chamber is desired, only a dry, soft cloth should be used to wipe it down.
- Warnings: Do not allow moisture to come into contact with the main housing of the air purifier. Never use detergents, gasoline, glass purifier, furniture polish, paint thinner, or other household solvents to clean any part of the appliance.
