3 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

Sunbeam Products, Inc. doing business as Jarden Consumer Solutions or if in Canada, Sunbeam Corporation (Canada)

Limited doing business as Jarden Consumer Solutions (collectively “JCS”) warrants that for a period of three years

from the date of purchase, this product will be free from defects in material and workmanship. JCS, at its option, will

repair or replace this product or any component of the product found to be defective during the warranty period.

Replacement will be made with a new or remanufactured product or component. If the product is no longer available,

replacement may be made with a similar product of equal or greater value. This is your exclusive warranty. Do NOT

attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions on this product. Doing so will void this warranty.

This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of initial retail purchase and is not transferable.

Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is required to obtain warranty performance. JCS dealers, service

centers, or retail stores selling JCS products do not have the right to alter, modify or any way change the terms and

conditions of this warranty.

This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the following: negligent use or

misuse of the product, use on improper voltage or current, use contrary to the operating instructions, disassembly, repair

or alteration by anyone other than JCS or an authorized JCS service center. Further, the warranty does not cover: Acts

of God, such as fire, flood, hurricanes and tornadoes.

What are the limits on JCS’s Liability?

JCS shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by the breach of any express, implied or

statutory warranty or condition.

Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty or condition of merchantability or fitness for a

particular purpose is limited in duration to the duration of the above warranty.

JCS disclaims all other warranties, conditions or representations, express, implied, statutory or otherwise.

JCS shall not be liable for any damages of any kind resulting from the purchase, use or misuse of, or inability to use

the product including incidental, special, consequential or similar damages or loss of profits, or for any breach of

contract, fundamental or otherwise, or for any claim brought against purchaser by any other party.

Some provinces, states or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or

limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusion may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from province to province,

state to state or jurisdiction to jurisdiction.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Solution

• Unit will not operate.

4 Check if unit is properly plugged in and outlet is energized.

4 Make sure unit is turned ON.

4 Make sure filters are properly installed and front grill is seated correctly.

• Decreased air flow.

4 Verify unit is positioned o a flat surface.

4 Make sure nothing is blocking air inlet and filtered air outlets. Position unit to

where the air outlet is at least 1 foot away from wall or objects.

4 Check condition of the filters and replace if necessary.

4 Check filters to remove any plastic wrapping/packaging.

• Excessive Noise.

4 Verify unit is positioned o a flat surface. Position unit to where the air outlet

is at least 1 foot away from wall or objects.

4 Make sure parts are firmly positioned in place.

4 Open the air inlet grill, and make sure that any plastic packaging was

removed from the filters, if applicable.

4 Ensure filter clips are assembled properly and filters are seated properly.

This document is an Owner's Guide for Holmes Aer1® Total Air Filter(s) Air Purifiers with optional ionizers, covering models HAP9241W/B, HAP9413W/B, and HAP9425W/B. It provides essential information on safety, features, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Function Description:

The Holmes Aer1® Air Purifier is designed to improve indoor air quality by filtering airborne particles and odors. It utilizes Aer1® Total Air Filter(s) which are specifically engineered to deliver cleaner air and reduce the frequency of dusting. The purifiers come with an optional ionizer feature that releases negative ions into the filtered air to enhance the air purification process. The ionizer helps by causing tiny airborne particles to become negatively charged, which then attract positively charged particles like dust, pollen, smoke, and pet dander, forming larger particles that are more easily captured by the filter system. The device is intended for household use and should be operated in rooms with temperatures between 40°F and 110°F.

Power: The appliance operates on a 120V AC electrical outlet.
Filter Compatibility: Compatible with all Aer1® Filters, including:
- TOTAL AIR: Advanced Dust Eliminating Technology, 99% HEPA-Type technology infused with baking soda.
- ODOR ELIMINATOR: 10x the odor fighting power, contains baking soda, carbon, and zeolite.
- ALLERGEN REMOVER: 99.97% True HEPA technology, removes up to 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns.
- ALLERGEN PERFORMANCE PLUS: 99.99% True HEPA technology, removes up to 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns.
- SMOKE GRABBER: 99% effective at removing smoke from the air stream (*as small as 0.3 microns), HEPA-type filtration with triple layer protection (Baking Soda, Carbon, Zeolite).
Filter Life: Aer1® Total Air, Odor, and Smoke Filters typically last 4 months. Allergen and Allergen Performance Plus Filters last 12 months.
Ionizer Ozone Output: Produces less ozone than the UL established limits of 50ppb (parts per billion).
Model Specific Filter Quantity:
- HAP9241/HAP9413: Requires 1 filter.
- HAP9425: Requires 2 filters.

Usage Features:

Speed Settings: Offers HIGH (3), MEDIUM (2), and LOW (1) speed settings for fan operation.
- MEDIUM (2) is recommended for optimum continuous air filtration.
- LOW (1) is for quieter operation, suitable for bedrooms.
- HIGH (3) is for quickly circulating and filtering air when high levels of air pollution are present.
Ionizer: An optional feature that can be turned ON/OFF via a dedicated button, which illuminates blue when active. The ionizer only functions when the unit is running.
Visipure® Filter Viewing Window (C): A lens that allows users to visually inspect the filter for accumulated dirt, helping to determine when replacement is needed.
Filter Reminder Dial (D): Helps users keep track of when to change the filter by setting the current month and the replacement month (4 or 12 months out, depending on filter type).
Control Panel (A): Centralized interface for operating the device.

Maintenance Features:

Cleaning:
- The outside of the air purifier can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth.
- The air inlet grill (I) can be removed and washed in warm soapy water (not dishwasher safe), then air-dried before reinstallation.
- The washable foam pre-filter (H) should be removed from the air inlet grill, washed in warm soapy water, air-dried, and then reassembled.
- The filtered air outlet (F) can be cleaned of dust with a small, soft brush.
- The inside filter chamber should only be wiped down with a dry, soft cloth; avoid moisture contact with internal components.
Filter Replacement:
- Filters should be checked every few weeks through the Visipure® Filter Viewing Window (C).
- Aer1® Filters are NOT washable or reusable and must be replaced.
- Replacement involves turning off and unplugging the unit, removing the air inlet grill, removing the used filter(s), installing new filter(s) by aligning clips with internal rails (Fig. 2), and replacing the air inlet grill.
- The Filter Reminder Dial (D) should be reset after each filter replacement to track the next replacement date.
- Filters with a 4-month life require replacement after 4 months of operation, along with washing the foam pre-filter.
- Filters with a 12-month life require replacement after 12 months of operation, with a recommended foam pre-filter wash and filter condition check after 4 months.
