Function Description:
The Duo Quartz works by targeting hair follicles below the skin's surface, reducing hair growth with minimal pain. It offers two treatment modes:
- Freeglide AFT™ (Levels 1-3): This mode delivers up to 1 pulse per second, allowing for fast and easy treatments that are comfortable even on sensitive skin. Users can hold the green trigger button down and glide the device across the skin, maintaining constant contact. For maximum coverage, it's necessary to repeatedly pass the device over the same area up to 5 times. The higher the level, the slower the device needs to be glided due to a slower pulse rate as more energy is released.

Usage Features:
- Quick Start Guide:
- Ensure the skin is shaved, clean, and dry.
- Connect the power lead to the Duo Quartz and plug into the mains. The blue/white skin level indicator lights will flash and turn off, and the green status light will illuminate.
- Press the power button to switch on the device.
- Press the power button to select an appropriate level for your skin tone. A skin test is recommended before first use.
- Hold the device against the treatment area, ensuring the yellow treatment window is in full contact with the skin. The green status indicator will stop flashing when good skin contact is made.
- For levels 1-3 (AFT Freeglide™), hold the green trigger button down and glide. For levels 4 & 5 (IPL single shot), press the green trigger button, hold, and wait for the flash.
- Skin Test: A spot test is crucial 48 hours prior to full treatment to determine skin reaction and optimal energy level. Start at level 1, deliver a pulse, then increase the level by 1 and repeat until the maximum comfortable level is reached. Wait 48 hours to examine the tested area for adverse effects like severe redness or blistering.
- Treatment Protocol:

- Upper Lip Treatment: Place the applicator as indicated, repeat up to 5 times. Avoid nostrils and lips; mask lips with paper if necessary.
- Cheek and Jaw Treatment: Treat each area up to 5 times, moving from one side to the other.
- Neck and Chin Treatments: Treat each area up to 5 times, moving from one side to the other. Note that skin on the lower third of the neck is more sensitive.
- Hair and Skin Type Suitability: The device works best on dark hair or hair with more melanin. Brown and light brown hair will respond but may require more sessions. Red, white, grey, or blond hair show limited response. The device is suitable for skin types 1-4, with type 5 requiring more treatments and type 6 being unsuitable due to high melanin absorption.
- What to Expect: Users will experience a bright flash, a popping noise with each pulse, a sensation of warmth, and possibly a mild stinging sensation. Fan noise will be present, but lower than a hair dryer.
- Post-Treatment Care: Apply a calming lotion like Aloe Vera. Avoid peeling/bleaching creams for at least 24 hours. Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks; use SPF 30 or higher if unavoidable. Do not wax or pluck hairs from treated areas. Hair will naturally fall out within 2 weeks.
