This document describes the HoMedics Shiatsu Foot Massager, models FM-22H-GB, FM-TS9-EU, and FM-TS9-GB. It is a non-professional appliance designed for personal use to provide a soothing massage to worn muscles.
Function Description
The HoMedics Shiatsu Foot Massager is designed to provide a shiatsu massage to the feet, featuring moving massage heads and an optional heat function. The device is operated via a single power button.
Important Technical Specifications
- Power Requirement: 220-240V AC power.
- Fuse (for GB models): Requires a 3A BS 1362 fuse when used with a BS 1363 plug.
- Massage Type: Shiatsu, with rotating massage heads.
- Heat Function: Integrated heat function that operates concurrently with the massage.
- Operating Time: Not to be used continuously for more than 20 minutes.
Usage Features
- Preparation: Always ensure the appliance is set to 'OFF' before plugging it into a mains outlet.
- Power Connection: Plug the appliance into a 220-240V mains outlet and switch on the mains.
- Placement: Place the massager on the floor in front of your chair.
- Massage Activation: Press the 'Power' button once to activate the massage function.
- Foot Positioning: Position your feet over the rotating massage heads. Users should apply a level of pressure that feels comfortable. It is highly recommended to use the appliance with socked feet.
- Heat Activation: To activate the heat function along with the massage, press the 'Power' button a second time.
- Switch Off: To switch off the device, press the 'Power' button until the massage heads stop moving.
- Safety Notes:
- Do not attempt to stand on the foot massager; use only while seated.
- The heat function will only work when the massage is in use.
- Do not use the massage or heat functions continuously for more than 20 minutes.
- If the product feels excessively hot, switch off at the mains and contact the HoMedics Service Centre.
- The appliance has a heated surface; persons insensitive to heat must be careful when using the appliance.
Maintenance Features
- Cleaning:
- Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before cleaning.
- Clean only with a soft, slightly damp sponge.
- Never allow water or any other liquids to come into contact with the appliance.
- Do not immerse the device in any liquid to clean.
- Never use abrasive cleaners, brushes, glass/furniture polish, paint thinner, etc., to clean.
- Storage:
- Place the appliance in its box or in a safe, dry, cool place.
- To avoid breakage, do not wrap the cord around the appliance or hang the unit by the cord.
- Plug Maintenance (for GB models):
- If the plug is damaged, it can be replaced with a BS 1363 plug fitted with a 3A BS 1362 fuse.
- Only use a 3 amp fuse with this appliance.
- Care must be taken when changing the plug. If in doubt, contact a qualified electrician.
Important Safeguards and Safety Cautions
- Always unplug the appliance immediately after use and before cleaning.
- Never leave an appliance unattended when plugged in.
- Not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised.
- Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

- Never operate the appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, or if it has been dropped or damaged. Return it to the HoMedics Service Centre for examination and repair.
- Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
- Excessive use could lead to excessive heating and shorter life. Discontinue use and allow the unit to cool if this occurs.
- Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
- Do not operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
- Do not operate under a blanket or pillow to prevent excessive heating, fire, electrocution, or injury.
- Do not carry this appliance by the cord or use the cord as a handle.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not attempt to repair the appliance; there are no user serviceable parts. All servicing must be performed by authorised HoMedics service personnel.
- Never block the air openings of the appliance or place it on a soft surface. Keep air openings free of lint, hair, etc.
- Do not place or store the appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a bath or sink, or drop into water or other liquid.
- Consult a doctor before using if you have health concerns, pacemakers, or are pregnant. Not recommended for use by Diabetics.
- Do not use on an infant, invalid, or sleeping/unconscious person, or on insensitive skin or a person with poor blood circulation.
- This appliance should NEVER be used by individuals with physical ailments limiting control operation or sensory deficiencies in the lower half of the body.
- Never use directly on swollen or inflamed areas or skin eruptions.
- Discontinue use and consult a doctor if discomfort is felt.
- This is a non-professional appliance and should not be used as a substitute for medical attention.
- Do not use before going to bed, as the massage has a stimulating effect and can delay sleep.
- Do not use for longer than the recommended time.
Warranty
HoMedics Inc. guarantees this product from defect in material and workmanship for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, abuse, accident, unauthorised accessories, alteration, or other conditions beyond HoMedics' control. It is effective only if the product is purchased and operated in the UK/EU. Modifications to operate in other countries are not covered. HoMedics is not responsible for incidental, consequential, or special damages. To obtain service, return the product post-paid to your local service centre with a dated sales receipt. HoMedics will repair or replace the product. Service by anyone other than HoMedics Service Centre voids the guarantee. This guarantee does not affect statutory rights.

This product should not be disposed of with other household waste in the EU. To prevent harm to the environment and human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly. Use return and collection systems or contact the retailer for environmentally safe recycling.
