This document is a user manual for the S56 Smart Pet Feeder.
Function Description
The S56 Smart Pet Feeder is designed to provide automatic feeding for pets, ensuring a scientific and reasonable feeding schedule for a healthy pet lifestyle. It offers both single and dual bowl versions to accommodate different pet owner needs. The feeder can be controlled manually or through a smartphone app, allowing for scheduled feedings, portion control, and voice recording playback. It features dual power supply options for continuous operation, even during power outages.
Important Technical Specifications
Food Size: Recommended food size is 0.2-1.2cm (0.07-0.47 inches) in diameter. Food smaller than 1.2cm is advised to prevent the feeder from getting stuck.
Portion Size: Each portion dispensed is approximately 5-6g (16ml) of food kibble for the single bowl version. For the dual bowls version, one portion dispensed to each bowl is about 2.5g.
Power Supply:
- Primary: Power adapter (plug-in power).
- Backup: 3 D-size alkaline batteries (not included). The device can work for 3 months on battery power alone. It is recommended to use both the power adapter and batteries simultaneously to ensure operation during power outages.
Connectivity:
- WiFi: The WiFi function only works when the device is powered by the plug-in adapter. It supports 2.4GHz WiFi networks only (does not support 5GHz).
- Bluetooth: Used for initial device pairing and connection.
Feeding Plan: Supports a daily 6-meal feeding plan.
Voice Recording: Allows for up to 10 seconds of voice recording to call pets for meals.
Usage Features
Dual Power Supply:
- Plug the power cord into the feeder.
- Install 3 D-size alkaline batteries as a backup. The device will automatically switch to battery power if the external power is cut off.
Single Bowl Installation: Assemble the base of the food bowl with the main feeder unit.
Dual Bowls Installation (if purchased):
- Connect the two-way dispenser to the main feeder unit.
- Connect the feeder base dispenser to the main feeder unit.
Adding Pet Food: Press the lid open button and pour pet food into the food container.
Desiccant Bag Installation: Place the desiccant bag into the desiccant box to keep pet food dry and fresh. The desiccant bag should be replaced every 15 days. To access the desiccant box, press the buttons on both sides to lift the food container out.
Software Installation and Setup:
- Ensure phone Bluetooth and WiFi are turned on.
- Confirm the feeder is powered by the adapter and the WiFi network is 2.4GHz.
- Install the "Smart Life" app by scanning the QR code or searching in the app store.
- Create an account, log in, and grant necessary permissions (privacy policy, local area network, home data, notifications, Bluetooth).
- Pairing: Long press the device's "RESET" button for 5 seconds until a "beep" sound is heard and the WiFi indicator flashes quickly (once per second). The device will enter a waiting state for pairing. (The WiFi indicator is off when the power adapter is not connected).
- Pull down on the app's main interface to refresh and auto-search for devices. Click "add devices" when the feeder appears.
- Allow app permissions, select your 2.4GHz WiFi network, and enter the WiFi password.
- Wait for the app to connect. Once connected, the WiFi indicator on the feeder will stop flickering and stay on. The app will then prompt for device name modification. Enter a new name and click "Finish".
Recording Setting:
- Press and hold the recording button for 3 seconds to record a voice message (max 10 seconds).
- Release the button to complete recording.
- Press the playback button to play the recording.
- Double-press the playback button until the recording indicator blinks 3 times to delete or disable the recording function.
Manual Feeding:
- Via App: On the feeder control page, click "Manual feeding", select the desired food portions, and click "OK".
- Via Device: Press and hold the manual feeding button on the feeder for 3 seconds. After a "beep", the feeder will dispense 1 portion.
Making a Feeding Meal Plan:
- Click the "feeding meals plan" button in the app.
- Select the desired feeding portions volume and meal time.
- Click "Save".
- To disable a meal plan, click the feeding meal, close the feeding meals plan button, and then click "Save".
Viewing Feeding Records: Click the record icon in the app and pull down to refresh the page to display feeding records.
Basic Settings (via App):
- Voice plays times: Adjust the number of times (0-6) a recording plays before feeding.
- Backup battery status: View the battery status.
- Slow feed: Turn on/off the slow feed function.
- 24-Hour: Turn on/off the 24-hour clock display.
Advanced Settings (via App):
- Device Information: View device ID, IP, MAC, device time zone, and signal strength.
- Offline Notification: Turn on to receive notifications when the device goes offline.
- Share device: Share control of the feeder with family members.
- Add to home screen: Add a shortcut to the feeder control page on your phone's home screen.
- Remove device: Disconnect the feeder from your account.
Maintenance Features
- Cleaning: For pet health, regularly clean the food container, stainless steel bowl, and bowl holder.
- Feeder Host: The main feeder unit is not washable; wipe it with a dry cloth.
- Desiccant Bag Replacement: Replace the desiccant bag every 15 days to prevent mold growth.
- Troubleshooting Food Dispensing: If food doesn't come out, check kibble size (2-12mm diameter) and clean the feeder, including disassembling the food tank, chute, and food outlet.
- Factory Reset: The "RESET" button can also be pressed for 5 seconds to perform a factory reset.
