How to start a Homelite UT10544 Chainsaw that won't start?

  If your Homelite Chainsaw engine won't start, it could be due to no spark or a flooded engine. First, clean or replace the spark plug and reset the spark plug gap. With the on/stop switch OFF, remove the spark plug. Move the choke lever to the RUN position (pushed in completely) and pull the starter cord 15 to 20 times to clear excess fuel. Clean and reinstall the spark plug. Set the on/stop switch to the RUN position. Push and fully release the primer bulb 7 times. Pull the starter three times with the choke lever at RUN. If the engine doesn't start, move the choke lever to FULL CHOKE and repeat the normal starting procedure. If it still fails, repeat the procedure with a new spark plug.

  If your Homelite Chainsaw engine doesn't reach full speed and/or emits excessive smoke, it might be due to an incorrect lubricant/fuel mixture or a dirty air filter. Use fresh fuel and the correct 2-cycle lubricant mix ratio. Also, clean the air filter.
