Why Homelite Blower engine will not start?
    • K
      Kyle WrightJul 30, 2025
The Homelite Blower engine might not start due to several reasons. It could be due to no spark. To check for spark, remove the spark plug, reattach the spark plug cap, and lay the spark plug on the metal cylinder. Pull the rope and watch for a spark at the spark plug tip. If there is no spark, repeat the test with a new spark plug. Another reason could be no fuel. Try pushing the primer bulb until it is full of fuel. If the bulb does not fill, the primary fuel delivery system might be blocked. Also, the engine might be flooded. In that case, set the start lever to the START position, squeeze the trigger, and pull the rope repeatedly until the engine starts and runs.

What to do if Homelite Blower engine does not reach full speed and emits excessive smoke?

If your Homelite Blower engine does not reach full speed and emits excessive smoke, it may be due to an incorrect oil/fuel mixture; use fresh fuel and the correct 2-cycle oil mix (50:1). Another cause may be that the air filter is dirty, so you should clean it. It may also be due to a fouled spark plug; in that case, clean or replace the spark plug and reset the spark plug gap.
