1. Check control
positions.
Fuel valve OFF. Turn valve ON.
Choke OPEN. Move to CLOSED unless
engine is warm.
Engine switch OFF. Turn engine switch to ON.

out treating or draining
gasoline, or refueled with
bad gasoline.

3. Remove and inspect
spark plug.
Spark plug faulty, fouled,
or improperly gapped.
Clean, gap, or replace

Spark plug wet with fuel
(flooded engine).
Dry and reinstall spark
plug. Start engine with
throttle lever in FAST po-
sition.
4. Take tiller to an autho-
rized Honda servicing
dealer , or refer to the
shop manual.
Fuel filter clogged, carbu-
retor malfunction, ignition
malfunction, valves stuck,
etc.
