AIR CLEANER
The air cleaner should be serviced at regular
intervals (page 45). When riding in dusty
areas, more frequent service may be
necessary.
1. Remove the air cleaner cover screws (1)
and the cover (2).
2. Remove the wing nut (3).
3. 3. Remove the air cleaner element (4).

4. Wash the element in clean non-flammable
or high flash point solvent and dry it
thoroughly.
Never use gasoline or low flash point
solvents for cleaning the air cleaner
element. A fire or explosion could result.
5. Soak the element in clean gear oil (SAE80-
90) until saturated, then squeeze out the
excess oil.
6. Install the element, and install the air cleaner
cover.
