Check it before use to make sure, above all, that there
is no deformation, wear mark and that the locking sys-
tem operates propertly.
Do not fasten it and remove it several times in a work
day when it has a manual locking system.
IN ADDITION, WHEN THE KARABINER HAS BEEN
USED TO ARREST A FALL, IT IS ESSENTIAL, FOR
SAFETY PURPOSES, TO RETURN IT FOR VERIFICA-
TION.
PERIODICAL EXAMINATION
These instructions must be kept with the product. Fill in
the identication sheet by placing the information on
the marking. This periodical examination to check the
eciency and resistance of the equipment is indispen-
sable in order to ensure user safety (See the paragraph
on ‘‘Verication before use’). This equipment must be
examined at least once a year by the manufacturer (ex-
cept in special cases: see our specic instructions), or by
a person or body authorised by the manufacturer. The
verication must be recorded on the sheet appended
to this document. You must increase examination
frequency according to the regulations, in case of
substantial use or in dicult environmental conditions.
The readability of the markings on the product must be
checked.
MAINTENANCE & STORAGE
Proper maintenance and storage of your PPE will ensure
a long last for your product while guaranteeing your sa-
fety. Automatic personal fall arresters do not require any
particular maintenance. We nevertheless recommend
the following:
Clean the metal parts in mild soap and water. Rinse
copiously and dry with a cloth.
Grease regularly using a universal lubricant.
After drying, lubricate the moving parts of the equip-
ment with general-purpose grease. Nevertheless, check
the cables and anchoring support are not in contact
with lubricant.
Check the operation of the equipment.
Make sure that there is no foreign body in the hou-
sing.
Leave the quadpod to dry in a ventilated place away
from any direct ame or any other source of heat.
Store the product in a ventilated room sheltered from
humidity and ultraviolet rays,
Avoid any corrosive, overheated or refrigerated
atmosphere.
LIFE CYCLE
The maximal life of PPE that is predominantly textile is
evaluated as being 10 years after the date of manufac-
ture; the maximal life of PPE that is predominantly metal
is evaluated as being unlimited but, however, this maxi-
mal life is reduced to 10 years after the date of manufac-
ture for non-opening products (except in some specic
cases see the specic manual). However, the following
factors may reduce the performance of the product and
its lifespan : in correct storage, improper use, fall arrest,
deformation, contact with chemical products (alkali and
acid),exposure to sources of heat > 60°C .
In order to improve the working-life of your device, it is
advised not to:
Subject the device to violent handling or shocks.
Expose the product to bad weather.
TRANSPORT
Check, during the transport of your PPE, that it is kept
away from any source of heat, humidity, corrosive
atmosphere, ultraviolet rays, etc.
