Overview

This document provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, use, and maintenance of the HOOVER DYNAMIC COOL Frost Free Fridge Freezer, available in models HFF195WWK, HFF195XWK, and HFF195BWK.

Function Description:

The Hoover Dynamic Cool Frost Free Fridge Freezer is designed for household and similar applications, including staff kitchen areas, farmhouses, hotels, motels, bed and breakfast environments, and catering applications. It is primarily intended for refrigerating and preserving foods such as fruits, vegetables, and beverages. The appliance features a refrigerating chamber for short-term food storage and a freezing chamber for long-term storage of frozen foods and ice making. It is equipped with a frost-free system, reducing the need for manual defrosting. The refrigerator also includes a water dispenser for purified water.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Supply: The refrigerator operates on 220-240V/50Hz AC power. Voltage fluctuations outside the range of 187-264V can cause malfunction or damage, necessitating a 750W automatic voltage regulator in such cases.
  • Refrigerant: The appliance uses R600a refrigerant, which is a combustible material.
  • Insulation: The insulation blowing gas is cyclopentane foam, also a combustible material.
  • Power Socket: A dedicated three-hole power socket with a minimum rating of 10A is required. The ready-fitted plug is equipped with a 13 Amp fuse (BS 1362 ASTA approved).
  • Dimensions (Reference Only): Approximately 915mm (height) x 549mm (width).
  • Ventilation: Requires at least 30cm of space above the refrigerator and more than 10cm from both sides and the backside for proper heat dissipation and door opening/closing.

Usage Features:

  • Thermostat Control: The temperature selector knob is located on the right-hand side wall of the refrigerator interior. Settings include "Off" (unit off), "Min" (less cool temperature), "Med" (normal operation, adequate for most situations), and "Max" (coolest temperature). The "Med" setting is recommended for initial setup.
  • Food Storage:
    • Refrigerating Chamber: Suitable for fruits, vegetables, and beverages. Cooked foods should be cooled to room temperature before placing them inside. Foods are recommended to be sealed. Glass shelves are adjustable for flexible storage.
    • Freezing Chamber: Designed for long-term storage of frozen foods like meat, fish, shrimp, dumplings, and rice balls. Meat chunks should preferably be divided into small pieces. Foods should be consumed within their shelf life.
  • Water Dispenser:
    • Water Type: Only purified and cool water without impurities should be used. Hot water, soft drinks, cola, or fruit juice are not suitable.
    • Filling: Open the water tank cover and directly fill. Do not inject water by removing the water box from the door. The maximum injection rate should be lower than the maximum scale indicated on the water box.
    • Dispensing: Push the handle inward with a water glass to dispense water. Water flow stops when the handle returns to its original position.
    • Maintenance: The water dispenser mechanism should be cleaned every 3-6 months. If unused for a long period, drain and refill with clean drinking water. If cleaning solutions are used, drain 5-6 cups of water after reinstallation to remove residue.
  • Door Reversibility: The appliance allows for swapping the door's left/right opening direction. This involves disassembling and reassembling components such as screw caps, catches, top hinge, bottom hinge, door limit blocks, and bearing bushes. It is recommended to have assistance for this process.
  • Energy Saving Tips:
    • Avoid frequent door openings, especially in hot and humid weather.
    • Ensure adequate ventilation behind the appliance.
    • Set the thermostat to a middle setting under normal temperature conditions.
    • Cool hot foods to ambient temperature before loading.
    • Clean ice and frost layers when they reach 3-5mm thickness.
    • Locate the appliance in the coolest area of the room, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
    • Wrap foods properly and wipe containers dry to reduce frost buildup.
    • Avoid lining storage bins with aluminum foil, wax paper, or paper toweling as this impedes cold air circulation.
    • Organize and label food to minimize door opening time.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning:
    • Exterior: Timely clean dust behind the refrigerator and on the ground to improve cooling efficiency.
    • Interior: Clean regularly with soft towels or sponges dipped in water and non-corrosive neutral detergents. The freezer should be cleaned with clean water and a dry cloth. Open the door for natural drying before turning on the power.
    • Prohibited Cleaners: Do not use hard brushes, steel balls, wire brushes, abrasives (e.g., toothpastes), organic solvents (e.g., alcohol, acetone, banana oil), boiling water, acid, or alkaline items, as these may damage surfaces.
    • Electrical Components: Do not rinse with water. Use a dry cloth for lighting lamps, temperature control knobs, and other electrical components.
    • Defrosting: Unplug the refrigerator for defrosting and cleaning.
  • Water Dispenser Cleaning: Disassembly involves removing water tank components by pulling them at a 45° oblique upward angle, then horizontally. The sealing ring of the water tank can be taken down. Water valve components can be disassembled using a screwdriver to rotate and pull them out. Clean all disassembled parts with cold or warm water and wipe dry. Reassembly follows the reverse order, ensuring proper alignment of guiding bosses, sealing rings, and suspension loops.
  • Long-Term Storage: If the refrigerator is left unused for a long time, unplug it, clean it, and leave the door open to prevent odors.
  • Moving the Appliance: Before moving, remove all items, fasten glass partitions, fruit/vegetable boxes, and freezer drawers. Do not turn the refrigerator upside down, place it horizontally, or vibrate it excessively. The carrying angle should not exceed 45°C. Avoid laying the appliance completely flat to prevent damage to the coolant system.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues like inoperation, odor, food freezing, long compressor operation, non-functional light, door not closing, and loud noises. It also offers "Warm tips" explaining normal operational phenomena such as heat emission, condensation, airflow sound, and compressor/solenoid valve noises. For unresolved issues, contact the after-sale service department.
