  If rinses are not being dispensed, start by confirming the method steps and ensuring the method has been loaded onto the module in use. Then, verify that the nitrogen source and the Solvent Bottle Pressure are set correctly. Check all nitrogen lines for kinks, and ensure the bottle cap is tight with undamaged gaskets. Also, verify sufficient solvent in the connected bottle. Ensure the Sip Tube is tightened into the cap and check for a clogged Solvent Filter. Inspect all lines for kinks. If the Rinse Rod is blocked, pull it out of the Bottle Holder and examine it. Sonicate or replace if necessary. Finally, ensure that the valve pins are properly seated within the Molex Connector. If other valves aren't actuating, replace the fuse on the Control Circuit Board.

  If fluid is leaking from the Rinse Rod, the Rinse Valve may be stuck open. Increase the Solvent Bottle Pressure to 17 psi and run a method that fires only the affected valve. If this does not resolve the issue, replace the valve.

  If the system does not advance to Air Dry, raise the Thermistor Clip so it is not touching anything within the Disk Holder, as the Thermistors may have remained covered.

  If rinses and washes are only 2 seconds long despite using the 8-second magnet, the IR Sensor may have failed. Replace the IR sensor.

  If the Water Inlet Valve (WIV) drips, inspect the WIV for scratches on the Spool and replace the WIV if damage is found. Also, check the tension on the WIV by running the Sample Drain method; the WIV should open in 1 second. Faster opening indicates insufficient tension.

  If fluid drips into the Collection Vessel, the Check Valve may need cleaning. Use the Check Valve Tool to free the Check Valve. You can also fill the Disk Holder with warm water and press and hold Abort then press Purge. If the issue persists, the Check Valve may need to be replaced.

  If the system advances to Air Dry prematurely, it may be due to a slow sample flow rate through the SPE disk. Verify Thermistor heights using the Thermistor Height Setting Tool. Also, investigate other prefiltering options. A bad Thermistor can also cause this, so verify Thermistor heights again. Ensure that Thermistors are connected to the Control Circuit Board correctly, and replace if necessary.

  If the sample flows slowly or not at all, start by verifying that the vacuum source and the Solvent Waste vacuum are set correctly. Also, ensure that the Water-Waste Carboy Manifold is correctly seated and the Water-Waste Carboy Drain is closed. Consider using additional prefilters or the EZ Flow Holder to increase flow. Open the disk holder and verify that the imprint of the Support Screen on the bottom of the SPE disk is off-center. With no disk in the disk holder, run DI Water using the Sample Drain method to confirm if the valve needs replacement. Verify that all waste lines are free from kinks.

  If the prewet solvent drains immediately, the waste valve might be stuck open. Place DI Water into the Disk Holder attached to a module and watch the waste containers to identify which one the water is pulled into. Alternatively, the Check Valve could be stuck open. Use the Check Valve Tool to cycle the Check Valve. Place DI Water into a Disk Holder attached to a Module. Replace Check Valve if necessary.

Why is my Horizon Technology Laboratory Equipment module not displayed on the Envision Operation Page?

  The module might not be displayed because the data cable isn't properly attached. Ensure it's securely seated on both the module's and the Envision's data port. A faulty data cable could also be the cause. Try connecting the data cable to a different port on the Envision to see if communication is established. If not, replace the cable. You can also try connecting the data cable to a different extractor.
