Overview

This document provides comprehensive instructions and safety guidelines for a Hotpoint induction cooktop.

Function Description

The Hotpoint induction cooktop is designed for household and similar applications, including staff kitchen areas, farmhouses, hotels, motels, bed & breakfasts, and other residential environments. It features multiple cooking zones with individual power adjustment, fast heating (Booster) function, and a timer. Special functions like "FLEXI DUO" allow combining two cooking zones for larger pots, while "MY MENU" offers pre-set cooking modes such as "MELTING," "KEEP WARM," "SLOW COOKING," and "BOILING." The appliance is controlled via a touch-sensitive control panel with symbols for various functions and indicators for selected cooking levels, active timers, and residual heat.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Dimensions: The cooktop measures 590 mm in width and 510 mm in depth, with a minimum installation depth of 35 mm. The cut-out dimensions for installation are 560+2 mm in width and 480-492 mm in depth.
  • Power Supply: The cooktop supports various electrical connections, including 380-415 V 2N~, 220-240 V AU-UK-IRL, 220-240 V 3~ BE, 230V 2 Phase 2N NL, 380-415 V 3N~, and 220-240 V ~. It must be earthed in conformity with national electrical safety standards.
  • Power Levels: The cooktop offers a range of power levels from 0 (support surface) to P (maximum power/fast heating/Booster). Users can adjust the maximum power level of the hob during initial setup (2.5 kW, 4.0 kW, 6.0 kW, 7.2 kW).
  • Cookware Compatibility: Only ferromagnetic pots and pans suitable for induction hobs (enamelled steel, cast iron, special stainless steel) should be used. The minimum diameter for pots varies by cooking zone (e.g., 120 mm, 200 mm, 150 mm, 100 mm).
  • Ecodesign Compliance: The appliance meets Ecodesign requirements of European Regulation 66/2014 and The Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products and Energy Information (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019, in compliance with European standard EN 60350-2.

Usage Features

  • Switching On/Off: The hob is turned on by pressing the power button for approximately 1 second. Pressing it again turns off all cooking zones.
  • Cooking Zone Activation: Cooking zones are activated by pressing the "+" or "-" buttons, which also adjust the power level. The "P" button activates the fast heating (Booster) function.
  • Control Panel Lock: The control panel can be locked by pressing and holding the OK/Key lock button for 3 seconds to prevent accidental activation.
  • Timer Function: Two independent timers are available for left and right-hand cooking zones. They can be set using the "+" or "-" buttons and automatically switch off the cooking zone when the set time elapses.
  • FLEXI DUO: This feature allows combining two cooking zones to create a larger cooking area, ideal for oval or rectangular pots.
  • MY MENU: This button activates special pre-set functions like "MELTING" (maintains ideal temperature without burning), "KEEP WARM" (keeps food at serving temperature), "SLOW COOKING" (for long-duration cooking without burning), and "BOILING" (brings water to boil efficiently).
  • Power Management: Users can set the maximum power level of the hob to align with their home's electrical system. This setting is retained even after power interruptions.
  • Acoustic Signal On/Off: The acoustic signal can be toggled on or off by pressing the "P" button of the first keypad at the top left for 5 seconds during the switch-on sequence.
  • Demo Mode: A demo mode, which deactivates reheating, can be toggled on/off by pressing the fast heating button "P" of the bottom left keypad for 5 seconds during the switch-on sequence.
  • Safety Indicators: The "H" indicator signifies residual heat in a cooking zone. The "U" symbol indicates an incorrectly positioned or incompatible pot.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning: The hob surface should be cleaned after each use, once it has cooled down and the "H" indicator is off. Abrasive sponges, corrosive products, chlorine-based cleaners, or pan scourers should not be used. A soft cloth, absorbent kitchen paper, or a special hob cleaner is recommended. For stubborn residues, a scraper can be used following manufacturer instructions.
  • CleanProtect Technology: If the hob features the CleanProtect logo, it has a special coating that ensures excellent cleaning results and maintains a shiny surface. For these hobs, soaking stained areas with water for 2-5 minutes before cleaning with a non-abrasive sponge is recommended.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting table for common display codes (e.g., FOE1, FOE7, FOEA, FOE9, dE) and their corresponding solutions, such as repositioning cookware, checking power supply connections, allowing the hob to cool down, or contacting after-sales service.
  • After-Sales Service: For assistance, users should register their product online and consult the troubleshooting section before calling. When contacting service, provide a description of the fault, appliance type and model, serial number, full address, and telephone number. Only authorized after-sales service should perform repairs to ensure original spare parts are used.
  • Divider Kit: If the cooktop is not installed above an oven, a divider kit (C00628720 for 60/65 cm cooktops or C00628721 for 77 cm cooktops) can be purchased from After-Sales Service or a separator installed according to installation instructions.
