Use the Imm key whenever more than one number
must be keyed into the calculator before pres sing a
function.
[fyou key in only one numb er, you never need to press Imm .
To place two number s into the calculator a nd perform an
operation:
I. Key in the fir st number.
2. Pr ess Imm to separate the first number from the second.
3. Key in the second numb er.
4. Pre ss the function ke y to perform the operation.
For example, you add 12 and 3 by pr ess ing:

The second number.

Other arithmetic functions are performed the same way:

The [LJ key is also a two -num ber operation . It is used to raise
numbers to powers , a nd you can use it in the same simple way
th at you use every other two-number function key:
I. Key in the first number.
2. Pres s miim to separate the first numb er from the second.
3. Key in the second number (power).
4. Perform the operat i on (press , then [LJ ).
When working with a ny function key ( includin g 0 ). you
s hould remember that the displayed number is al ways desig-
nated by x on the function key sy mb ols .
The
number displayed is always x.
