Before
attempting
to trouble shoot this instrument make sure
the
fault
is
with
the
instrument and not with
the
associated
circuit
under
test.
The performance test

enable
you to determine this without having to remove this instrument from
the
ca-
binet.
Be
sure to perform this
test
before disturbing
any
ot
the
internal adjustments
of
the instrument.
This
test moy also be used as an incoming inspection test to make
sure the instrument has not been damaged
in
shipment, for
periodic
maintenance
or
to
check
operation
of
the
instrument
after
repairs.
a) Voltage Range.
An
external
DC-Voltmeter having an
accuracy
of
1 % or
better,
i.g.
the
I!jJ
Mo-
del
412A,
is
connected
across
the
output
terminals.
The
Model 6960A under
test
is
to be
operated
in
the
36V-300
mA
range.
Turn
the
VOLTAGE ADJUST
clock-
wise until
the
412A
indicates
36V
output.
The
knob must
have
been turned more
than 180 degrees •
Turn
the
VOLTAGE ADJUST fully
counterclockwise.
Output
voltage
should
ga
through
zero
to between 2 and 100
mV
negative.
