leads.
Stretched
or
missing
springs.
Excessive
lead-screw
end-play.
Excessive
play
in
the
paper
advance
assembly.

Replace
any
worn
or
defective
parts.

reassembling
the
printer,
be
sure
to
lubricate
the
four
points
indicated
in
figure
6-2.

home
position
reed
switch:

Manually
rotate
the
lead-screw
until
the
head
carriage
is
positioned
near,
but not
touching,
the
right-hand
wall
as
shown
in
figure
4-15.

Connect
an
ohmmeter
to
the
0
reed
switch
leads.
When
the
head
carriage
is
positioned

near
the
right-hand
wall
as
shown
in
figure
4-15,
the
ohmmeter
should
measure
less

1
ohm.

Test
the
motor
for
open
or
shorted
windings
and/or
open
or
shorted
C2.
Connect
an
ohmmeter
to
the
dc
motor
leads.
If
the
meter
reads
less
then
9.0
ohms,
carefully
disconnect
one
lead
of
C2
and
measure
again.
Replace
the
defective
capacitor/dc
motor
assembly
if
necessary.
