HP FutureSmart rmware makes updating, managing, and extending the capabilities of the
HP LaserJet Enterprise 600 M601, M602, and M603 printer series easier and more consistent.
HP FutureSmart is HP’s new rmware platform for enterprise printers, scanners, and MFPs.
It is the “brain” that controls the HP LaserJet Enterprise 600 M601, M602, and M603 printer
series and enables many of their new and exciting features, such user authentication and
encrypted data communication. Designed to adapt to evolving technologies, HP FutureSmart
ensures that devices remain viable for years to come—and it provides consistency for IT and
end users across all supported devices. HP FutureSmart delivers value by helping to protect
your imaging and printing investments and by enabling easy management.
HP FutureSmart lets you:
• Quickly manage rmware updates for these devices because a single rmware codebase
simplies and reduces time testing and updating rmware across the HP FutureSmart eet.
• Streamline the way your business handles print jobs. An advanced job queue makes it easy
to access and control print jobs in the queue.
• Help secure your devices and business processes. Set up user proles and permissions to
control access to device functions and capabilities.

HP ePrint

lets you print directly to your HP LaserJet Enterprise 600 M601, M602, and M603
printer series, using a smartphone, notebook, or other mobile device. HP ePrint works by
assigning an email address to your printer—so you, your clients, or your mobile workers can
easily print from any device capable of sending email—no print driver required.
Larger documents, presentations, and PDF les can be diicult to read on small, handheld
device screens, but now you can easily print these documents from your mobile device to
read or take with you. Whether you need to securely print sensitive corporate documents,
take an emailed attachment with you on a business trip, or print photos from a visit to a work
site, count on HP ePrint to make it simple to print from your mobile device.
When you rst enable ePrint, the printer is in unlocked mode. In unlocked mode, anyone
who knows your printer’s email address can print to it using the ePrint service. At
ePrintCenter, you can lock your printer and restrict printing to specic email addresses
