Cold Reset Paper When you perform a cold reset,
the paper size that is stored in
NVRAM is reset to the default
factory setting. If you replace a
formatter board in a country/
region that uses A4 as the standard
paper size, use this menu to reset
the default paper size to A4.
LETTER and A4 are the only
available values.

Restore factory-set defaults
1.
On the product control panel, press the Home
button.
2. Open the following menus:

General Settings
●
Restore Factory Settings
3. Select the Reset option, and then press the OK button.

Restore the service ID
If you replace the formatter, the date is lost. Use this menu item to reset the date to the original date that
the product was first used. The date format is YYDDD. Use the following formula to calculate the dates:
1. To calculate YY, subtract 1990 from the calendar year. For instance, if the product was first used
in 2002, calculate YY as follows: 2002 - 1990 = 12. YY = 12.
2. Subtract 1 from 10 (October is the tenth month of the year): 10 - 1 = 9.

Multiply 9 by 30: 9 x 30 = 270 or add 17 to 270: 270 + 17 = 287. Thus, DDD = 287.
