Power supply blank
To remove the component:
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless
all bays are populated with either a component or a blank.
1. Access the product rear panel (on page 31).
2. Remove the power supply blank.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the power supply or
power supply blank to cool before touching it.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
Hot-plug power supply
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless
all bays are populated with either a component or a blank.
To remove the component:
1. Determine how many hot-plug power supplies are installed:
o If only one hot-plug power supply is installed, power down and remove the power cord from the
server ("Power down the server" on page 30).
o If more than one hot-plug power supply is installed, continue with the next step.
2. Access the product rear panel (on page 31).
