3.
Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
4. Do one of the following:
o For tower models, place the server on a flat, level surface with the access panel facing up.
o For rack models, extend the server from the rack (on page 28).
5. Remove the access panel ("Access panel" on page 29).
CAUTION: In systems that use external data storage, be sure that the server is the first unit to be
powered down and the last to be powered back up. Taking this precaution ensures that the system
does not erroneously mark the drives as failed when the server is powered up.
6. If installed, remove the PCI air baffle ("PCI air baffle" on page 31).
7. Remove the capacitor pack:
o For the ATX configuration
