Overview

This document serves as a Quick Start Guide for the ALP-L09 and ALP-L29 devices, offering an overview of their functions, usage, and maintenance.

Device at a Glance

The device is designed for ease of use, with clearly labeled components. To power on, simply press and hold the power button until the screen illuminates. To power off, press and hold the power button, then touch the designated icon. For a forced restart, press and hold the power button until the device vibrates.

Key components include:

  • Secondary microphone: For enhanced audio input.
  • Flash: Provides illumination for photos and other uses.
  • Optical proximity sensor: Detects nearby objects without physical contact, often used to turn off the screen during calls.
  • Card slot: Accommodates SIM and microSD cards.
  • Status indicator: Displays various device states, such as charging or notifications.
  • Fingerprint scanner: Offers secure and convenient device unlocking.
  • Primary microphone 2: Another microphone for audio input.
  • USB-C port: For charging and data transfer.
  • Primary microphone 1: The main microphone for calls and audio recording.
  • Speaker: For audio output.
  • Power button: Controls power on/off and screen lock.
  • Volume button: Adjusts audio levels.
  • Earpiece: For listening during phone calls.
  • Front camera: For selfies and video calls.
  • Dual-lens camera: The main camera system for high-quality photography.
  • Laser sensor: Assists with camera focus.
  • Headset jack: For connecting wired headphones.

Getting Started

Setting up your device involves correctly inserting the SIM and microSD cards. The guide provides clear illustrations for both ALP-L09 and ALP-L29 models, showing how to align the Nano-SIM and microSD cards within the card tray.

Important usage features and maintenance considerations:

  • Card insertion/removal: Do not insert or remove the SIM card while the device is powered on to prevent potential damage.
  • Card alignment: Ensure the card is correctly aligned and the card tray is level when inserting it into the device. Improper alignment can cause damage.
  • Eject pin safety: Exercise caution when using the eject pin to avoid scratching the device or causing injury. Always store the eject pin out of reach of children to prevent accidental swallowing.
  • Card compatibility: Avoid using cut or modified SIM or microSD cards, as these may not be recognized by the device and could damage the card tray or slot.

Dual Card Dual Standby Single Pass (ALP-L29 only)

The ALP-L29 model supports dual card dual standby single pass. This means that while two SIM cards can be active in standby mode, they cannot be used simultaneously for calls or data services.

  • Call handling: If you are on a call using SIM card 1, SIM card 2 will be unavailable for incoming or outgoing calls. Callers to SIM card 2 may hear a message indicating the subscriber is out of service or temporarily unreachable. The exact message may vary by service provider.
  • Data service: When SIM card 1's data service is active, SIM card 2's data service will be disabled. This single pass feature is designed to optimize power consumption and extend standby time. It is recommended to contact your service provider to inquire about missed call reminder and other assistance services to mitigate potential conflicts arising from this feature.

Safety Information

It is crucial to read all safety information carefully to ensure safe and proper operation and disposal of your device.

Operation and safety guidelines:

  • Hearing protection: To prevent hearing damage, avoid listening at high volume levels for extended periods.
  • Power accessories: Use only approved or compatible power adapters, chargers, and batteries. Unapproved accessories can damage the device, shorten its lifespan, or cause fire or explosion.
  • Operating temperatures: The ideal operating temperature range is 0 °C to 35 °C. For storage, the ideal temperature range is -20 °C to +45 °C.
  • Pacemaker interference: Maintain a minimum distance of 15 cm between the device and a pacemaker to prevent interference. If you have a pacemaker, hold the device on the side opposite the pacemaker and avoid carrying it in your front pocket.
  • Heat exposure: Keep the device and battery away from excessive heat and direct sunlight. Do not place them on or near heating devices like microwave ovens, stoves, or radiators.
  • Driving safety: Observe local laws and regulations. Do not use your wireless device while driving to reduce the risk of accidents.
  • Aircraft use: Follow instructions provided by airline staff when using your device on an aircraft or immediately before boarding. Wireless device use in an aircraft can disrupt wireless networks, pose a hazard to aircraft operation, or be illegal.
  • Environmental protection: To prevent damage to internal circuits, avoid using the device in dusty, smoky, damp, or dirty environments, or near magnetic fields.
  • Charging safety: Ensure the power adapter is plugged into an easily accessible socket near the device when charging. Unplug the charger from electrical outlets and the device when not in use.
  • Flammable/explosive environments: Do not use, store, or transport the device where flammables or explosives are stored (e.g., gas stations, oil depots, chemical plants). This increases the risk of explosion or fire.

Disposal and Recycling Information

Proper disposal: Dispose of the device, battery, and accessories according to local regulations. They should not be discarded with normal household waste. Improper battery use can lead to fire, explosion, or other hazards.

The crossed-out wheeled-bin symbol on the product, battery, literature, or packaging indicates that all electronic products and batteries must be taken to separate waste collection points at the end of their working lives. They must not be disposed of with household garbage. Users are responsible for disposing of equipment at designated collection points or services for recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and batteries in accordance with local laws.

Proper collection and recycling help conserve valuable materials and protect human health and the environment. Improper handling, accidental breakage, damage, or recycling at the end of life can be harmful to health and the environment. For more information on EEE waste disposal, contact local authorities, retailers, or household waste disposal services, or visit http://consumer.huawei.com/en/.
