Mobile connection intermittently cuts out
1. Contact your carrier to confirm your SIM card functions. If the SIM card does not
support 2G or 3G calling, your phone may periodically search for the 2G/3G network,
leading to disconnection of the 4G mobile network. It is recommended that you use a
regular SIM card that supports calling functions.
2. If the SIM card supports 2G and 3G calling, check to see if another phone using a SIM
card provided by the same carrier is experiencing the same issue. If not, the Internet
connection may be unstable. Try using the phone in an area with a more stable network
signal.
3. If the issue persists, reset the APN. Swipe down from the status bar to open the
notification panel, touch and hold Mobile data to enter the Mobile data settings screen,
touch Access Point Names, then touch the three-dot menu in the upper right corner, and
select Reset to default.
4. If the issue still persists, open Settings and search for Reset network settings. Then reset
the network settings of your phone. (Note: This will delete all your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
connection records.)
If the issue persists, back up your data and take your phone and proof of purchase to an
authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
Connect to Wi-Fi
By connecting your device to a Wi-Fi network, you can effectively save mobile data.
To avoid potential security risks (such as unauthorized access to your personal data and financial
information), please exercise caution when connecting to a public Wi-Fi network.

Overview

This device manual provides comprehensive guidance on managing mobile network connectivity and Wi-Fi usage, addressing common issues and offering practical solutions. The primary function of the device, as highlighted in the manual, is to facilitate seamless communication and internet access through both mobile data and Wi-Fi networks.

Function Description

The device is designed to connect to mobile networks for calling and internet access, supporting 2G, 3G, and 4G connectivity. It also features robust Wi-Fi capabilities, allowing users to connect to local wireless networks for internet access, thereby conserving mobile data. The manual emphasizes the device's ability to manage network settings, troubleshoot connectivity problems, and ensure a stable internet experience.

Usage Features

The manual outlines several key usage features related to network management:

  • Mobile Network Connectivity: The device supports various mobile network standards (2G, 3G, 4G) for calls and data. Users can enable or disable mobile data as needed, which is crucial for managing data consumption and battery life. The device allows for the configuration of Access Point Names (APN) to ensure proper mobile data functionality.
  • Wi-Fi Connectivity: The device offers easy access to Wi-Fi networks. Users can view available networks, connect to them by entering passwords for encrypted networks, and even manually add hidden networks by specifying their names and security protocols. This feature is essential for leveraging high-speed internet in various locations and reducing reliance on mobile data.
  • Notification Panel Access: A central usage feature is the ability to quickly access network settings via the notification panel. Swiping down from the status bar provides shortcuts to enable/disable mobile data and access detailed Wi-Fi settings, streamlining the user experience.
  • Settings Menu Navigation: The manual details how to navigate through the device's settings menu to manage wireless and network options, including Wi-Fi and mobile data settings. This structured approach ensures users can locate and adjust relevant configurations effectively.
  • Data Saving: The device encourages users to utilize Wi-Fi networks to save mobile data, a practical feature for those with limited data plans. It also advises disabling mobile data when not in use to conserve battery power.
  • Security Awareness: The manual includes a crucial usage feature related to security: it warns users about potential risks when connecting to public Wi-Fi networks, advising caution to protect personal and financial information. This highlights the device's commitment to user security and privacy.

Maintenance Features

The device manual provides several maintenance features aimed at resolving common connectivity issues and ensuring optimal performance:

  • SIM Card Verification: A primary maintenance step involves verifying the SIM card's functionality. Users are advised to confirm with their carrier that the SIM card supports 2G and 3G calling. If the SIM card lacks these capabilities, the device might frequently search for these networks, leading to 4G disconnections. The recommendation is to use a "regular SIM card that supports calling functions."
  • Network Stability Check: For issues where the SIM card supports 2G/3G calling, the manual suggests checking if other devices with SIM cards from the same carrier experience similar problems. This helps diagnose whether the issue is device-specific or related to the network's overall stability. Users are advised to try the device in areas with stronger network signals.
  • APN Reset: A key maintenance feature is the ability to reset the Access Point Name (APN) settings to default. This can resolve mobile data connectivity issues. The steps involve navigating through the notification panel to "Mobile data settings," then "Access Point Names," and finally selecting "Reset to default" from the three-dot menu.
  • Network Settings Reset: If problems persist, the manual recommends a more comprehensive maintenance step: resetting all network settings. This action, performed by searching for "Reset network settings" in the device's settings, will delete all Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection records but can often resolve stubborn connectivity issues.
  • Professional Support: For persistent issues that cannot be resolved through the outlined steps, the manual directs users to seek professional assistance. It advises backing up data and taking the device, along with proof of purchase, to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center. This ensures that complex hardware or software problems can be addressed by experts.
  • Data Backup Recommendation: Before undertaking significant troubleshooting steps like resetting network settings or seeking professional repair, the manual explicitly recommends backing up data. This is a crucial maintenance practice to prevent data loss during troubleshooting or repair processes.

In summary, the device is designed for reliable mobile and Wi-Fi connectivity, offering intuitive usage features for network management and robust maintenance features to troubleshoot and resolve common issues, all while prioritizing user security and data integrity.
