Why is there no hot water from my Hubbell Heat Pump?
    • B
      bparkAug 7, 2025
Several factors can cause a lack of hot water. It could be due to a tripped circuit breaker (reset it), a tripped high limit switch (reset it), or loose wires (tighten them). If you're not in 'Econ' mode, the heating elements might be inoperable and need checking. Low line voltage could also be the culprit, requiring an electrician's check. A faulty controller or temperature sensor might also be the cause; check the wire connections, and if the controller display isn't lit with available power, or if the temperature doesn't match the actual water temperature (within ±5°F), consider replacing the controller and/or sensors. It could also be due to a heat pump error (refer to the heat pump error codes) or an incorrectly low setpoint (increase it).

Why does the relief valve on my Hubbell Heat Pump discharge continuously?
    • D
      David BrownAug 21, 2025
Continuous discharge from the relief valve indicates excessive temperature or pressure in the tank. These valves are designed to activate if the water temperature exceeds 210°F or the tank pressure exceeds the valve's rating. If the issue is excessive temperature, the controller isn't shutting off at the setpoint and needs replacement. If it's a pressure issue, thermal expansion is likely the cause. Consider installing a thermal expansion tank.
