This document is a user manual for the Humhold Dehumidifier, model HDCS-35A1. It provides comprehensive information on the device's safety, installation, components, operation, drainage, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Function Description:
The Humhold HDCS-35A1 is a dehumidifier designed to reduce humidity levels in indoor environments. It operates by extracting air from the room, cooling it to below its condensation point, causing water vapor to condense into water droplets that collect in a water tank. The dehumidified air is then heated and returned to the room. This process helps to prevent mold, mildew, and other humidity-related issues, contributing to a more comfortable and healthier indoor environment. The device also features an internal drying function to prevent mildew within the unit itself.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Operating Temperature Range: The dehumidifier operates optimally between 41°F and 90°F (5°C and 32°C).
- Optimal Relative Humidity Range: The optimal relative humidity for operation is 30%-80%.
- Power Supply: The device requires a power supply that complies with safety regulations and ensures reliable grounding.
- Drainage Options: It offers two drainage methods:
- Water Tank: A removable water tank collects condensed water. The unit indicates when the tank is full and stops operation until it is drained.
- Continuous Drainage: An optional drainage pipe can be connected to the back of the unit for continuous water removal. Two types of pipes are supported: an inner diameter 9mm pipe (provided by the manufacturer) or a standard screw thread garden drain pipe with an outer diameter of 1/16 inches and a pitch of 11.5 TPI. The external water pipe must not be higher than the water outlet to prevent leakage.
- Airflow: The dehumidifier features adjustable air speed settings (HIGH and LOW) in AUTO and CONTINUOUS modes.
- Timer: A 24-hour timer allows users to set the on/off time for the dehumidifier, with settings ranging from 1 to 24 hours.
Usage Features:
- Control Panel: The device is equipped with a control panel featuring various buttons and an LED display.
- LED Display: Shows room humidity in AUTO, CONTINUOUS, and DRYING modes. In AUTO mode, it displays the set humidity, and in timer state, it shows the set time.
- On/Off Key: Turns the dehumidifier on or off.
- Timer Key: Sets the on/off time (1-24 hours). Pressing it twice continuously cancels the timer.
- Humidity Setting Key: Allows circular selection of humidity levels from 30% to 80% (30%-35%-40%-45%-50%-55%-60%-65%-70%-75%-80%). This setting is only active in AUTO mode.
- Mode Key: Selects between AUTO, CONTINUOUS, and DRYING modes.
- Air Speed Key: Adjusts air speed (HIGH/LOW) in AUTO and CONTINUOUS modes.
- Child Lock Function: Activated by pressing the Mode button for 3 seconds, and canceled by pressing it again for 3 seconds.
- Humidity Indicator Function: Pressing the humidity setting button and the mode button simultaneously toggles a light indicator on the front cover. The light changes color based on humidity levels: Red (over 65%), Green (40-60%), and Blue (less than 35%). Intermediate humidity levels (60%-65% and 35%-40%) display the previous status.
- Operating Modes:
- AUTO Mode: The compressor and fan operate based on the set humidity. If room humidity is higher than the set humidity (or within +/- 5% of it), the compressor starts, and the fan runs at the set speed. If room humidity is lower than the set humidity by 5%, the compressor stops, but the fan continues to run. The default set humidity is 50%.
- CONTINUOUS Mode: The compressor starts, and the fan runs at high speed regardless of room humidity. Air speed can be regulated.
- DRYING Function: Initiates an internal drying procedure to prevent mildew inside the unit.
- SWING Function: Can be turned on/off by simultaneously pressing the timer and dry keys.
- Safety Features: Includes automatic shutdown when the water tank is full, indicated by a flashing icon and a buzzer sound.
Maintenance Features:
- Power Disconnection: Always disconnect power before maintenance or repair to prevent electric shock, especially if the dehumidifier will not be used for a long time.
- Cleaning:
- Water Tank: Clean the water tank and its cover regularly with a soft cloth dipped in cold or warm water to prevent mold.
- Exterior: Wipe the dehumidifier's surface with a slightly wet cloth. Do not use detergents or abrasives to avoid damaging the plastic surface.
- Air Strainer (Filter Frame): Clean the washable PP strainer at least once every two weeks with cold or warm water. Do not use chemical solvents or hot water.
- Prohibited Cleaning Agents: Do not use chemical solvents such as alcohol, gasoline, or benzene on the dehumidifier body.
- Floater Check: Before re-inserting the water tank, ensure the floater rotates flexibly.
- Placement: Install on smooth surfaces to reduce vibration and noise. Maintain minimum distances: 19.7 inches above, and 7.9 inches front/rear and left/right. If excessive noise is observed, placing pads or damping rubber sheets underneath can reduce vibration and noise, and protect wood floors or carpets.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides a table of common problems, possible causes, and solutions, including display codes for specific anomalies (e.g., FL for full water tank, E1/E2 for sensor anomalies, P1 for defrosting state, CL for internal drying state, LC for child lock).
The Humhold HDCS-35A1 is designed for indoor use only and should not be used for other purposes. It is important to avoid placing heavy objects on the unit, inclining it, or placing waste rods and hard objects into it. The supply cord, if damaged, must be replaced by the manufacturer or qualified personnel.
