Parts Name & Function
1. Antenna – Removable flexible rubber antenna.
2. ON/OFF – Volume – Rotate clockwise for switching the radio ON
and increase the volume. Rotate counter clockwise for decreasing
the volume and switching the radio OFF.
3. Rotary selector – Rotate clockwise or counter clockwise for
selecting operating channel or function.
4. LED indicator – [Green]: the radio is receiving a signal, or
squelch is open. [Red]: the radio is transmitting.
[Red blinking]: low battery warning.
5. PTT (Push-To-Talk) – Press and hold for transmitting, speak into
the microphone (13) with normal voice. Release for receiving.
6. Squelch (Monitor) – Press shortly for opening the squelch
momentarily. Press and hold 3 seconds for opening the squelch
constantly, then press shortly for closing.
7. Keypad lock – Press and hold 2 seconds for enabling or
disabling the keypad lock. When enabled all keys except PTT (5)
and Squelch (6) are locked.
8. CLR – Returning key inside Function Mode.
9. FUNC – Function key for accessing Function Mode and selecting different radio functions. Press
and hold 1 second for accessing Function Mode, then rotate the Rotary selector (3) for selecting
different radio functions.
10. ENTER – Confirming key inside Function Mode, for saving the setting.
11. DisplayBacklighted display, showing operating channel and functions. The backlight is
automatically activated for 15 seconds whenever a key is pressed, except PTT (5).
12. Accessory connector – Connectors for connecting external speaker/microphone or headset.
[MIC]: microphone 2,5mm. [SP]: speaker 3,5mm.
13. Microphone – Internal, built-in microphone.
14. Speaker – Internal, built-in speaker.

Antenna

Removable flexible rubber antenna.

ON/OFF - Volume Control

Rotate clockwise to turn ON and increase volume. Counter-clockwise to decrease volume and turn OFF.

Rotary Selector

Selects operating channel or function by rotating clockwise or counter-clockwise.

LED Indicator Status

Green for receiving/squelch open, Red for transmitting, Blinking Red for low battery.

PTT (Push-To-Talk) Button

Press and hold to transmit, release to receive. Speak into the microphone.

Squelch (Monitor) Button

Press shortly to open squelch momentarily. Press and hold 3s for constant open, press shortly to close.

Keypad Lock Function

Press and hold 2s to enable/disable. Locks all keys except PTT and Squelch.

CLR Button

Returns to the previous function or mode.

FUNC Button

Accesses Function Mode and selects radio functions.

ENTER Button

Confirms settings within Function Mode.

Display Overview

Backlighted display showing channel and functions. Backlight activates for 15s on key press.

Accessory Connector

Connects external speaker/microphone or headset (MIC 2.5mm, SP 3.5mm).

Microphone

Internal, built-in microphone.

Speaker

Internal, built-in speaker.

Display Symbol Description

Battery Level Indicator

Shows the current battery level.

Channel or Function Display

Indicates the selected operating channel or active function.

Keypad Lock Symbol

Appears when the keypad lock feature is enabled.

Signal Strength & Output Power

Displays received signal strength or output power during transmission.

Scanning List Symbol

Indicates when a channel is selected as part of the scanning list.

Scrambler Function Symbol

Appears when the scrambler function is activated on the radio.

Output Power Indicator (LO/HI)

Shows if low (1W) or high (5W) output power is selected.

CT Indicator

Not used on this specific radio model.

VOX Function Symbol

Indicates when the Voice Operated Exchange (VOX) function is enabled.

Whispering Function Symbol

Appears when the Whispering function is activated.

Beep Tone Symbol

Indicates when the Beep tone function is enabled.

Radio Function Operations

Start and Stop Scanning

Procedure for initiating and terminating the scan function.

Manage Scanning List

Add or delete channels from the scanning list.

Change Output Power

Select high (HI) or low (LO) output power for a channel.

Adjust Squelch Level

Set squelch sensitivity from level 1 to 9.
