Overview

The Hurtle Foldable Electric Scooter, available in HURES72 and HURES80 models, is a personal electric transportation device designed for adults. It features a foldable design for easy storage and transport, making it a convenient option for commuters. The scooter is equipped with a high-resolution smart LCD display that provides essential riding information, including speed, speed modes (Sport, Drive, Eco, Pedestrian), mileage, and cruise control status.

To ensure safe operation, the scooter incorporates triple braking systems, including hand-activated brakes, E-ABS brakes, a front drum brake, and a rear disc brake. Red taillights are also included for enhanced visibility during braking. The HURES72 model features 10-inch inner honeycomb solid tires, while the HURES80 model uses 10-inch pneumatic tires. Both models offer 3 gears and cruise control for a customizable riding experience.

The scooter is designed with user safety in mind, emphasizing the importance of wearing a properly fitted helmet that complies with CPSC or CE safety standards. It also advises against riding in low-visibility conditions without proper lighting and reflective clothing. The manual highlights the need to understand all instructions and safety features before operation to prevent injury or damage.

For enhanced functionality, the Hurtle scooter can be connected to the "Tuya Smart" app. This app allows users to lock and unlock the e-scooter and monitor riding status, providing a smart and connected experience.

Usage Features:

  • Folding and Unfolding: The scooter features a simple folding mechanism. To unfold, push the lock on the rear fender and pull the steering column up until it is fully vertical. Secure it by pulling up the safety lock on the front and pushing it into place until a "click" is heard. When folding, release the folding clip to collapse the steering column. Users are cautioned about pinch points during these operations.
  • Starting the Scooter: For safety, the scooter requires a "push to start" mechanism. It will not accelerate unless it is already moving at least 1.8mph (3km/h). Riders must kick off the ground before pressing the throttle to engage the motor.
  • Operating the Motor: Once comfortable riding the scooter manually, power it on. The motor activates after the scooter is in motion and the throttle is pushed down with the thumb.
  • Braking: To slow down, disengage the throttle and squeeze the brake handle to engage the disk brake. The brake is pressure sensitive, meaning a tighter grip provides more stopping power. Gradual braking is recommended to avoid sudden stops and potential injury.
  • Turning: The handlebar is used to steer the scooter in the desired direction.
  • Speed Modes: Different speed modes can be activated by pressing the power button once when the scooter is powered ON and not in motion. The display will indicate the activated speed mode.
  • Cruise Control: To activate cruise control, press the throttle down for 6 seconds until a beep is heard and the cruise control indicator lights up on the LED display. Cruise control can be canceled by pressing the throttle down once or squeezing the brake handle.
  • Terrain and Riding Conditions: The scooter is designed for paved, flat, and even surfaces. Riders are advised to avoid icy, slippery, rough, or uneven terrain, as well as potholes, cracks, and debris. Riding in inclement weather (snow, rain, hail) or extreme temperatures is not recommended. When encountering uneven pavement, it's suggested to lift and carry the scooter over the obstruction.
  • Safety Precautions: Riders should always use common sense, obey local traffic laws, ride defensively, and give pedestrians the right-of-way. It is crucial to maintain a safe distance from other riders and avoid operating the scooter under the influence of drugs or alcohol, when restless or sleepy, or while using a phone. The scooter is intended for single-person use, and carrying anything while riding is discouraged. Individuals with lack of balance, pregnant women, young children, and the elderly should not operate the scooter.
  • Weight and Speed Limits: Users must adhere to the specified weight and speed limits for their safety. Exceeding these limits can lead to injury or product damage.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Avoid using water or other liquids for cleaning, as this can cause permanent damage to internal components. Abrasive cleaning solvents should also be avoided.
  • Storage: Store the scooter in a dry, ventilated environment. Prolonged exposure to UV rays, rain, and the elements can damage enclosure materials, so indoor storage is recommended when not in use.
  • Battery Charging: Only use the supplied charging cable and wall charger. Ensure the charging port is clean and dry before plugging in the charger. The charging indicator light on the charger will turn RED during charging and GREEN when fully charged. Do not force or bend the charging cable.
  • Battery Care: The lithium-ion battery is built into the device and should not be disassembled or separated. Avoid exposing the battery to extreme heat, direct sunlight, or open flames, as this can cause overheating, rupture, or ignition. If the battery does not recharge within the specified time, discontinue charging. Batteries should be recycled or disposed of properly according to local, state, and federal laws.
  • Pre-Ride Checklist: Before each ride, operators should perform pre-operation checks to ensure all guards and pads are in place, the braking system is functioning, safety labels are understood, axle/chain guards are in place, and tires are in good condition with sufficient tread. The battery should be fully charged.
  • Long-Term Storage: If the scooter is not used for an extended period, recharge the battery every 2 months to maintain its life.
  • Repairs: Repairs to electrical equipment should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorized personnel. Disassembling the Hurtle scooter without permission will void the warranty.
  • General Care: Keep the device away from heat sources, direct sunlight, humidity, water, and other liquids. Do not puncture or harm the exterior surface. Avoid dropping the device from high places. Do not attempt stunts or tricks, or ride over obstacles that add stress to the scooter, as this can lead to long-term damage and increased risk of injury.
