The Husky HSK155 Digital Electronic Flashlight is a rechargeable, multi-functional lighting device designed for reliability and convenience, particularly in emergencies or during power outages. It combines a powerful halogen beam with a long-lasting LED area light, all managed by a digital display for intuitive operation.

Function Description:

The primary function of the HSK155 is to provide illumination through two distinct light sources: a halogen beam for focused, powerful light, and three built-in LEDs for extended area lighting. It features a digital display that provides real-time information on battery charge level and remaining run time, enhancing user awareness and preventing unexpected power loss. The flashlight also incorporates a "power fail night light" feature, automatically activating during power outages when docked in its charging station, ensuring visibility in dark conditions. Its sequencing operation allows users to cycle through different lighting modes (halogen, LEDs, or off) with successive presses of the ON/OFF pushbutton, or activate all lights by pressing and holding for two seconds.

Usage Features:

  • Sequenced Operation: The flashlight operates through a sequence with each press of the ON/OFF pushbutton:
    1. 1st Press: Activates the halogen beam. The digital display shows remaining run time for the halogen beam and battery charge level.
    2. 2nd Press: Activates the 3 built-in LEDs. The digital display shows remaining run time for the LEDs and battery charge level (LED run time displays only when LEDs are on).
    3. 3rd Press: Turns all lights OFF.
    4. Press and Hold (2 seconds): Activates all lights (halogen and LEDs simultaneously).
  • Digital Display: Clearly indicates battery charge level and remaining run time for the active light source. It displays "LO" when batteries are low, accompanied by 3 beeps and a flashing low battery symbol before shutting off. During charging, it displays "CH" and a flashing battery symbol. If a power failure occurs during charging, it displays "PF" and the night light flashes.
  • Power Fail Night Light: Automatically illuminates when power is interrupted while the flashlight is docked and charging, providing immediate light in dark conditions.
  • Dock-Mount Charging Station: Simplifies recharging and ensures the flashlight is always ready for use.
  • Low Battery Alarm: Sounds once every 5 minutes for up to an hour when the battery is low, reminding the user to recharge.

Maintenance Features:

  • Rechargeable Ni-Cd Batteries: The unit uses four rechargeable Ni-Cd batteries, which are included. These batteries can be replaced when their performance degrades.
    • Battery Replacement Procedure: Involves removing a screw at the base of the battery cover, gently pulling up the cover, removing and replacing the four rechargeable batteries in the same position, and then reattaching the cover.
    • Battery Disposal: Users are advised to dispose of used batteries properly and can call (800) 822-8837 for recycling information.
  • Bulb Replacement (Halogen): The halogen bulb is user-replaceable.
    • Bulb Replacement Procedure: Requires twisting to unlock the Rubber Guard Cover from the Retaining Ring, gently removing the Retaining Ring, Lens, "O" ring, and Reflector. The old halogen bulb is then twisted counterclockwise and removed from its socket. A new HR53, 5.2v, 0.8 amps bulb (available through Husky Technical Support) is then installed.
  • Automatic Charging: The dock-mount charger is fully automatic, preventing overcharging and simplifying the charging process. The battery symbol stops flashing on the LCD display when fully charged.
  • Durable Construction: Features a break-resistant "O" ring sealed polycarbonate lens, enhancing its durability and resistance to environmental factors.
  • Warranty: Covered by a 1-year limited warranty program, ensuring repair or replacement for defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty is non-transferable and non-refundable.
