Blade clutch

Remove the nut and separate both halves
of the cover.

1. Remove the nut holding both covers
together and separate them carefully
using a screwdriver.
TIPS!
Allow the screw to stay in position in the
handlebar and the cover half to pro-
vide some support when dismantling or
assembl ing.
2. Remove the bearing (A) for the engine
brake bar together with the spring (B).
Note how the spring is fi tted.
3. Remove the spring (C).
Remove the starter pulley and the rubber
sleeve.
4. Lift the cable out of its seat in the
cover.
5. Lift out the starter pulley (D) and dis-
connect the cable.
6. Remove the rubber sleeve (E).
7. Remove the spring-loaded control (F)
and note the position of the spring (G).
If replacing the cable, chapter 1 (engine
replacement with blade clutch) shows how
this is dismantled from the blade clutch on
the engine axle.
Assemble in the reverse order as set out
for dismantling.

Check operation after servicing.
