5. Electric start(If equipped): Turn and keep the key to "START" position until
the engine is started. After the engine is started, release the key to return to
"ON" position.
Manual start: Turn the switch to "ON" position. Slowly pull the starter handle until
there is tension, and then quickly pull tostart.
KICKBACK
Rapid retraction of the starter cord will pull your hand and arm towards the engine
faster than you can letgo.
Accidental starts can result in entanglement, traumatic amputation orlaceration.
Broken bones, fractures, bruises or sprains couldresult.
If the starter fails to start the engine, immediately turn off the starter. Don't
attempt to restart the engine before the failure cause is identified. Don't restart the
engine by replacing the storage battery without authorization.
If the engine fails to start after three (3) attempts or stalls out after starting, inspect
and ensure that the generator is placed on horizontal surface and check the
engine oil level.
When the unit is turned off, make sure that the starting switch is in "OFF" position.
The engine equipped with Low Oil Shutdown will not start if oil level is below
minimum level.
Routinely inspect oil level with engine off. See MAINTENANCE section for
recommendedmaintenance.
If the starter fails to start the engine, immediately turn off the starter. Don't

6. After the engine is running, move the choke valve to "OPEN" position
