Assembly
1. Press the new outer bearing races into the wheel
housing until they are fully seated against the housing
shoulder. Figure 6-31
2. Thoroughly pack the tapered roller bearings with multi-
purpose grease.
3. Insert the new tapered roller bearings into the outer
bearing race. Figure 6-32
4. Insert the new seals into the wheel housing. Make sure
that the flat side of the seal is flush with the outside
edge of the wheel housing. Figure 6-32
5. Insert the bushings through the seal openings and
push them in until they contact the tapered roller
bearings. Figure 6-33
6. Push the dust caps onto the wheel housing.

7. Slide the wheel assembly between the caster fork legs
and assemble to the fork using the axle bolt, flat
washers, and lock nut. Figure 6-34
NOTE: Make sure the head of the axle bolt is on the
same side as the valve stem.
8. Screw the lock nut onto the axle bolt and tighten.
Then, back the nut off until the wheel rotates freely.
9. Using a grease gun, insert multi-purpose grease into
the wheel housing until grease begins to seep from the
dust caps.
