Pump Mount Must:
NOTICE:
Pump suction and discharge connections have moulded in thread stops, DO NOT try to screw
pipe in beyond these stops.
4
4
Allow use of short, direct suction pipe. (To reduce friction losses & do not install the
pump at more than 3M geometrical height from water level)
4
Flowgates should be used in suction and discharge piping.
4
Have adequate floor drainage to prevent flooding.
4
Be protected from excess moisture.
4
All adequate access for pump and piping servicing.
Be solid, level, rigid and free from vibration.

Questions and Answers

Why hydro-s SS Swimming Pool Pump delivers no water?
    • N
      Nicole DiazAug 1, 2025
If your hydro-s Swimming Pool Pump isn't delivering water, it might not be primed. Check if a valve in the suction or discharge line is closed. Also, inspect the suction system for any leakage or air entering. Finally, the impeller might be clogged.

Why is my hydro-s SS Swimming Pool Pump and motor so noisy?
    • D
      Danielle DavidsonAug 5, 2025
A noisy hydro-s Swimming Pool Pump and motor can stem from several causes. Check for a plugged basket in the skimmer or hair in the lint strainer. Worn motor bearings, a partly closed valve in the suction line, or a partly plugged suction line could also be responsible. Additionally, a plugged or too-small vacuum hose or improper pump support might contribute to the noise.

What causes my hydro-s Swimming Pool Pump motor to overheat and trip the protector?
    • M
      Michael NelsonAug 10, 2025
Several factors can cause your hydro-s Swimming Pool Pump motor to overheat and trip the protector. These include low voltage, incorrect motor winding connections for dual voltage models, and inadequate ventilation.

Why doesn't my hydro-s SS reach full speed?
    • M
      Melinda OchoaAug 14, 2025
If your hydro-s Swimming Pool Pump isn't reaching full speed, it could be due to low voltage or the pump being connected for the wrong voltage.

    Michael MorganAug 18, 2025
What causes high pressure in my hydro-s SS?
    • M
      Michael HoltAug 18, 2025
High pressure in your hydro-s Swimming Pool Pump can be caused by a discharge valve or inlet fittings being closed too much, return lines that are too small, or dirty filters.

    Kara PriceAug 22, 2025
Why are there air bubbles at the inlet fittings of my hydro-s SS?
    • C
      Crystal JohnsonAug 22, 2025
Air bubbles at the inlet fittings of your hydro-s Swimming Pool Pump can be caused by a leakage of air into the suction line at connections or the valve stem, a hair and lint strainer cover gasket needing cleaning, or a low water level in the pool.
  • D

What to do if there's water leakage at the shaft of my hydro-s Swimming Pool Pump?
    • C
      Carl DavidAug 27, 2025
If you notice water leakage at the shaft of your hydro-s Swimming Pool Pump, the shaft seal likely requires replacement.

Summary

INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT ELECTRICAL

Electrical contractors must wire EMAUX pumps to the main power supply via an approved, correctly rated contactor.

Pump Mount Must

Ensure pump is solid, level, rigid, vibration-free. Use short suction pipe, flowgates, adequate drainage, protect from moisture, and allow service access.

OPERATION

Priming Pump

Release air from system. Flooded systems self-prime. For others, unscrew trap cover, fill trap/pump with water, clean/inspect ring, replace cover.

Routine Maintenance

Inspect and clean the trap basket regularly to prevent water flow obstruction. Follow specific steps for removal, cleaning, and reassembly.

SERVICE & REPAIR PARTS

Ordering Repair Parts

Refer all service to your local agent or dealer. Provide unit nameplate data or serial number and description of part when ordering.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

Motor Issues

Covers common problems like motor not starting, not reaching full speed, overheating, and pump delivering no water.

Pump Performance Issues

Addresses low pump capacity, high pump pressure, noisy pump/motor, and air bubbles at inlet fittings.

Leakage at Shaft

Indicates potential shaft seal replacement is required.
