Usage Features:
Installation:
The pump requires installation near an electrical and water connection, in a location where water leaks or accumulation will not damage property. The purge hose discharges about ½ oz of water when the pump stops or during intermittent modes.
To connect to a water supply, a hose rated for constant pressure is needed. Standard residential water pressure (40-60 PSI) is sufficient. HydroMist offers specific hoses (F10-10-009 for 5 feet, F10-10-010 for 10 feet) for permanent connection to a garden hose bib.
The high-pressure outlet connects to the misting system using a slip-lock fitting for 1/4" nylon tube.
Control Panel:
The control panel features five buttons (OFF, ON, MODE1, MODE2, MODE3) and six LED lights (POWER, WARNING, CONTINUOUS ON, MODE 1 ON, MODE 2 ON, MODE 3 ON).
- POWER (Green): Always on when the pump is plugged in.
- WARNING (Red): Illuminates if the water pressure cutoff switch detects no or insufficient water pressure at the inlet. To reset, connect to water supply, press OFF, then ON or any mode button.
- ON (Continuous Misting): The pump operates continuously until OFF is pressed or water supply is turned off.
- MODE 1 (Intermittent Misting): 15 seconds on, 20 seconds off, repeat.
- MODE 2 (Intermittent Misting): 25 seconds on, 30 seconds off, repeat.
- MODE 3 (Intermittent Misting): 40 seconds on, 40 seconds off, repeat.
- OFF (System Off): Turns the pump off.
First Time Operation:
- Remove a misting nozzle at the furthest end(s) of the system to allow air to purge.
- Turn on the pump to fill lines with water, forcing air out. Turn off once a continuous stream of water flows.
- Reinstall all removed nozzles.
- Turn on the pump; the system will pressurize.
- Check for leaks or blockages. Cycle the pump on and off several times to purge air from internal passages.
Pressure Adjustment:
The pump comes preset at a maximum outlet pressure of 1000 PSI for a system with 4 nozzles. If the pump produces more than 1000 PSI, or if the system has more nozzles, the pressure should be decreased to a maximum of 1000 PSI using the pressure adjustment knob located underneath the pump cover on the brass pump head.
- Turn the knob counterclockwise to decrease output pressure.
- Turn the knob clockwise to increase output pressure.
- CAUTION: Do not adjust without a pressure gauge designed for at least 1000 PSI. Operating above 1000 PSI will quickly deteriorate internal pump seals.
- Dangers: Do NOT use during severe storms, in flooded areas, or near open water. Only trained personnel should operate. Power source must have overload circuit breaker protection. Do NOT move during operation. Mount on a solid, flat, dry surface. Read the manual before operating.
- Warnings: Do not open the cover or touch the motor/pump while in operation. Check electrical cords for good condition before running.
- Cautions: Do not operate below freezing (0°C/32°F). Check for oil leakage before use. Use only specified power source. Do not increase operating pressure over 1000 psi. Do NOT use extension cables longer than 30 ft; they must be outdoor rated with a grounding prong. Water supply pressure should be at least 30 psi. Water inlet temperature must not exceed 50°C/120°F. Ensure all hose and high-pressure fittings are FIRMLY attached. Using fewer nozzles than recommended will over-pressurize the system and deteriorate pump seals. A valve at the end of the misting system is recommended for air purging. Check and clean blocked nozzles. For storage, discharge system pressure and drain standing water.
Maintenance Features:
Periodic Check and Inspection Schedule:
- Before Operation: Check all fittings, water lines for leakage, pump for oil leakage, and pump cover for damage.
- 50hr: Check connectors and hoses for damage/loose fittings, check/clean inlet water filter, check nozzles for leaks/blockage, check control panel operation, check electric cord for damage, check oil quality/quantity.

Oil Change Procedure:
The pump comes pre-filled with oil.
- First oil change: After the first 50 hours of operation.
- Subsequent oil changes: Every 250-300 hours of running.
- Oil Type: Use ISO 68 oil or equivalent (HydroMist Part# F02-06-001).
- CAUTION: Always power off and disconnect power before maintenance. Irregular oil changes damage parts and shorten service life. Remove old oil completely. Change oil on a level surface. Do not change hot oil to avoid burns.
- Purge pressure and water from the misting system.
- Remove water supply and high-pressure misting hose connections.
- Unplug the pump.
- Remove the top pump cover by loosening 4 screws.
- Check for oil leakage inside the machine and clean any spills.
- Place a catch pan under the oil drain plug (on the bottom side of the pump) and unscrew it to drain oil.
- After draining, reinstall and tighten the drain plug.
- Unscrew the oil fill plug on top of the pump housing.
- Add up to 5 oz. of ISO 68 oil through the fill hole.
- Tighten the oil fill plug and wipe up any spilled oil. Check all bolts, screws, and connectors for tightness.
- Replace the top cover and tighten screws.
- RECYCLE USED OIL: Do not dump used oil into the environment. Dispose of it at an approved recycling center.
- CAUTION: Ensure oil drain and fill plugs are not leaking and are securely fastened. Top cover screws must be securely tightened.
Thermal Overload Protection:
The pump has a thermal overload protection device (circuit breaker) to prevent damage from excess heat or electricity. If activated, a reset button (located under the top cover) can be pressed to reset the device. If the button does not stay in, check the power supply. Do not attempt repairs while plugged in.
Storage:
- Disconnect water supply.
- Run the pump on continuous mode until water stops coming out of the outlet, then turn off.
- Drain misting lines, pipes, and rings to prevent freezing and cracking.
- CAUTION: Keep indoors when not in use. If exposed to rain, stop and unplug immediately. Use caution when disassembling high-pressure components as residual pressure can cause injury. Do not use below freezing temperatures; running with ice can damage the pump and cause over-pressure.
