What to do if my Hytorc HY-Air cylinder/tool leaks?
    • E
      eherringAug 17, 2025
If your Hytorc Water Pump cylinder or tool is leaking, here's what you can do: * If the safety relief valve on the swivel has lifted, tighten all hoses and couplers. If the leak continues, adjust the safety setting. * If there's a blown O-ring in the cylinder, replace the O-ring with a proper high-pressure O-ring. * If there's a defective gland seal, replace the gland seal.

What to do if Hytorc Water Pump ratchet will not take successive strokes?
    • B
      bpetersAug 21, 2025
If the Hytorc Water Pump ratchet will not take successive strokes, consider the following: * If the drive segment or spring is broken or inoperative, replace the drive segment and/or spring. * If the cylinder is not retracting completely, remove the tool from the nut and cycle freely for several strokes. If the problem persists, check the pawls. * If the linkage between the piston rod and drive plates is broken, replace the parts as necessary.

Why does my Hytorc HY-Air Water Pump tool operate backwards?
    • X
      xguerraAug 25, 2025
If your Hytorc Water Pump tool is operating backwards, it could be due to: * Reversed couplings: Replumb the system as necessary. * Multiple hoses in even numbers: Hytorc hoses may only be joined together in odd numbers. If it is necessary to use 2, 4, or 6 hoses, make an adapter from spare high-pressure couplings and nipples.

How to fix Hytorc Water Pump tool locking onto nut?
    • E
      Earl ShortAug 28, 2025
To fix a Hytorc Water Pump tool that locks onto the nut: * If the drive segment is loaded when the tool is maxed out in torque, press the advance button on the remote and build pressure. Continue to press down on the remote while pulling back on one of the accuracy assurance levers. Release the remote while continuing to hold back on the levers. * If the tool is operating backwards, push the advance button down. The tool should immediately fall free. * If the tool is wedged under a fixed object, remove the shroud from around the ratchet. Using any tool available, pry the drive segment out of the ratchet and, at the same time, pull back on the accuracy assurance levers. The tool should swing free or burn away the socket or obstruction.

What to do if Hytorc HY-Air gauge shows pressure build-up but the tool will not cycle?
    • K
      kfieldsSep 1, 2025
If the Hytorc Water Pump gauge shows pressure build-up but the tool will not cycle: * Check for loose or inoperative couplings. Tighten or replace them. * Check if the solenoid is inoperative. If it is bad, replace it.

Why Hytorc HY-Air cylinder will not retract?
    • C
      Chelsea ThompsonSep 5, 2025
If the Hytorc Water Pump cylinder will not retract, possible causes include: * Voltage to the electric pump is too low due to line drop, or inadequate amperage is available: Use a shorter extension cord or upgrade to a 12AWG, 25 amp rating or better. If shop power is adequate, draw power from a welding machine or cal rod transformer. * Linkage between the piston rod and drive arms is broken: Replace parts as necessary.

What causes Hytorc Water Pump ratchet to return with stroke?
    • M
      Maria AdamsSep 9, 2025
If the Hytorc Water Pump ratchet returns with the stroke, it is likely due to a broken or inoperable drive segment. Replace the drive segment and/or spring.

What to do if Hytorc Water Pump cylinder pressure will not build?
    • T
      Taylor WilliamsNov 12, 2025
If the Hytorc Water Pump cylinder pressure isn't building, there could be several reasons: * Oil blow-by in the tool (piston seal leak, blown O-ring, or cracked piston): Replace the defective parts. * Pump Problem: Check to see if the sub-plate is worn. Remove screws from the pump motor to the reservoir, slide the pump motor to the side, turn the pump on, and while holding down the button, put your finger on the dump tube (round tube under the directional control valve). If you feel pressure, then replace the sub-plate and shear seals. * Leaks from the external relief valve and the two oil line connections: Retighten with a 9/16” open-end wrench. * Pump sounds like pebbles in a tin can: This may indicate a worn motor coupling. Remove the motor from the base plate and use needle-no...
