Installing a Drive in Bank E
Before you begin:
Be sure you have:
Purchased a hot-swap drive tray III for each hot-swap drive
that you plan to install and prepared the drive for
installation (see “Preinstallation Steps (All Bays)” on
page 204).
Removed the side cover (see “Preparing to Install Options”
on page 163).
Removed the cardboard packing material from bank E.
You must also order a hot-swap backplane and install it at
the rear of bank E. (To order the backplane, contact your
IBM reseller or IBM marketing representative.)
Contacted your IBM service technician to have another
power supply installed (if it has not already been installed
for bank D).
Ensured that the backplane address jumper J2 is set to “E”
(see “Setting the Backplane Address Jumper (J2)” on
page 251).
