2. Conrm that the A-side power supply on the device powers on.
3. If there is only a single power supply in the device, use the instruction manual provided with the
device to complete the installation. If there are two or more power supplies in the device, continue
with the next step.
4. Switch the device's B-side circuit breaker to the on position.
5. Conrm that the B-side power supply on the device powers on properly.
6. Use the instruction manual provided with the device to complete the installation.
Connecting a -48V DC Power Distribution Panel (PDP), feature code 6117
Some rack models (such as the 7014-T00) can support a DC power conguration for systems that require
DC power. If you decide to connect a DC power source to the rack, you can use the procedure in this
section to perform this task. This section also includes illustrations of the related hardware components
and shows how these components relate to each other.
About this task
Note: You are responsible for providing and connecting the -48V DC power source and -48V DC power
return cables from your source -48V DC to the bus bars in the power distribution panel. You are also
responsible for connecting the ground cable to the rack frame.
Procedure
1. Remove the six mounting screws from the top cover of the DC power distribution panel and remove
the top cover.
2. Remove the cable channel cover. To remove the cable channel cover, perform the following steps:
a. Loosen the four retaining screws.
b. Align the larger openings in the cover with the retaining screw heads.
c. Lift the cover up to clear the retaining screws and remove it.
