9. This is a Model 825. See Locations Model 825. Replace the following FRUs in order one at a time
until the problem is resolved. Be sure to IPL in SLOW OVERRIDE mode after each replacement.
a. Processor card in location M02 (if present)
b. Memory cards on the processor card in location M02 (if present and exchanging the processor
card in M02 corrected the problem)
c. Processor card in location M01 (if present)
d. Memory cards on the processor card in location M02 (if present and exchanging the processor
card in M01 corrected the problem)
e. Processor card in location C13
f. Memory cards on the processor card in location C13 (if exchanging the processor card in C13
corrected the problem)
g. Power supply in location P01
h. Power supply in location P02
i. System Backplane Extender in location MB1
j. System unit backplane in location MB1
This
ends the procedure.
10.
For Models 830, 840, SB2, and SB3: Perform the following:
a. Power off the system from the control panel.
b. Check cable connections between the system unit and the base I/O tower.
c. Reseat cables where possible.
d. Power on the system.
Does the same SRC occur?
v Yes: Continue with the next step.
v No: Go to “Starting point for all problems” on page 2 and follow the service actions for the new
SRC.
This ends the procedure.
11.
Perform the following:
a. Power off the system from the control panel.
b. Remove the cables and connections from the secondary I/O towers so that HSL ports A0 and A1
connect only the base I/O tower to the system unit. This is a minimum configuration for IPL.
Note: The connections to any I/O towers other than those connected to ports A0 and A1 should
not affect this procedure.
c. Power on the system.
Does the same SRC occur?
v Yes: Continue with the next step.
v No: Go to “Starting point for all problems” on page 2 and follow the service actions for the new
SRC.
If the IPL is successful, then the failing item is in a secondary I/O tower. Restore the I/O towers
one at a time until the problem is isolated.
12.
Is this system a Model 830, SB2 system unit and FC 9074?
v Yes: Continue with the next step.
v No: Go to Step 14 (See page 292).
