Remember, when you first turn your IBM PCyr power
on, your keyboard is in lowercase.
Some keys have both a white and a black character
above them.
The white character above the keys shows the
lowercase numbers and symbols.
The black character above the keys shows the
uppercase symbols.

For instance, look at the key in the
top row marked
Press it.
The number "4" appears on the
screen.
Now press and hold down a
key.
Then press i j:
A $ now appears.
