These new IBM® Systems x3690 X5 servers incorporate high-performance, 6-core
Xeon® E6540 processors, 8-core Xeon processors in MAX5 models and:
• Up to 32 DIMM slots in 7148 chassis and 32 DIMM slots in the MAX5 chassis,
delivering up to 1 TB of high-speed, lower-power, PC3-10600 ECC double data
rate 3 (DDR3) SDRAM system memory at 1067 MHz
• Optional Emulex 10 Gb Ethernet Integrated Virtual Fabric Adapter
• Four 5.0 Gb PCIE I/O (two x8, and two x8 low profile), Gen 2 slots
• Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) controller
• Integrated Broadcom 5709 Dual-port 10/100/1000 Megabit Ethernet
• Up to sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays for flexible installation of HDDs, supporting
up to 8 TB
