Overview

The Ickle Bubba Cirrus i-Size car seat with ISOFIX base is an enhanced child restraint system designed for infants from 40-87cm in height (birth to approximately 15 months) and weighing up to 13kg. It is approved according to UN Regulation No. 129-03 EU i-Size standard. This car seat is specifically designed for rearward-facing installation in i-Size compatible vehicle seating positions, as indicated by vehicle manufacturers in their user manuals. For proper installation and safety, it must be used with an ISOFIX base and support leg.

Function Description:

The Cirrus car seat is designed to provide a safe and secure environment for infants during car travel. It features a multi-position handle, adjustable headrest, and a five-point harness system to ensure the child is properly restrained. The ISOFIX base simplifies installation and provides a stable connection to the vehicle's ISOFIX anchorage points. The car seat can be easily attached to and detached from the ISOFIX base.

Key Components and Features (Car Seat):

  1. Handle: The handle can be rotated into four positions:

    • Rearward installation in the car.
    • Carrying position.
    • Cradle mode.
    • Down to support the baby for feeding and play. To rotate the handle, simultaneously press the handle rotation buttons on both sides. Ensure the handle is locked in position before carrying the car seat.
  2. Adjustable Headrest: The headrest can be adjusted to the child's height. To adjust, pull the harness adjuster strap and press the headrest adjuster button. The shoulder harness straps should be at the correct height, level with the child's shoulders.

  3. Belt Guides: These guides ensure the proper routing of the vehicle's seat belt when installing the car seat without the ISOFIX base (if applicable, though the i-Size product requires the ISOFIX base).

  4. Harness Adjuster Strap: Used to tighten or loosen the five-point harness for a snug fit.

  5. Press Adjust Button: This button, often located at the front of the seat, is used in conjunction with the harness adjuster strap to adjust the harness length.

  6. Canopy: Provides shade and protection for the child. It is fitted around the handle and secured with fastenings. The elasticated edge of the hood should be positioned behind the headrest.

  7. Harness: A five-point harness system consisting of shoulder straps, a waist belt, and a crotch strap, designed to securely restrain the child.

  8. Handle Adjustment Button: Buttons on both sides of the handle that allow for rotation and adjustment of the handle's position.

  9. Side Protector: Integrated side impact protection to enhance safety in the event of a side collision.

  10. Harness Adjustment Slots: Multiple slots in the backrest allow for adjusting the height of the shoulder harness to accommodate the child's growth.

  11. Seat Unit: The main body of the car seat where the child sits.

  12. Headrest Height Adjuster: Mechanism for raising or lowering the headrest and shoulder harness simultaneously.

  13. Diagonal Seatbelt Guide: Guides for the diagonal part of the vehicle's seat belt (if used for installation without the ISOFIX base, though the i-Size product requires the ISOFIX base).

  14. Harness Pad: Padded covers for the shoulder harness straps for comfort.

  15. Three-Point Safety Buckle: The central buckle where the harness straps connect.

  16. Crotch Pad: Padding for the crotch strap for comfort.

  17. Newborn Insert (40-75cm): An additional cushion for newborns and smaller infants (40-75cm) to provide better support and a snug fit. This insert must be used for children within this height range.

Key Components and Features (ISOFIX Base):

  1. ISOFIX Connector: Connects the base to the vehicle's ISOFIX anchorage points.

  2. Length Adjustment Button: Used to extend or retract the ISOFIX connectors.

  3. Seat Anchor Point: The point where the car seat attaches to the base.

  4. Release Button: Used to detach the car seat from the base.

  5. Support Leg Length Adjustment Button: Allows for adjusting the length of the support leg.

  6. Support Leg: Provides additional stability and prevents rotation of the car seat in the event of a collision. It must rest firmly on the vehicle floor.

  7. Length Adjustment Indicator: Shows the current length setting of the support leg.

  8. ISOFIX Guide Sleeve: Guides that assist in inserting the ISOFIX connectors into the vehicle's anchorage points.

  9. ISOFIX Click Indicator: Visual indicators (red/green) that confirm correct ISOFIX installation.
