The BatterySAVER Plus is a 12 Volt solar powered battery charge maintainer.
It helps prevent dead batteries caused by key-off electronic drain, extreme weather effects,
and natural voltage losses. The unit will start trickle charging as soon as it is exposed to
sufficient daylight. The LED (Light Emiting Diode) will not blink if there is insufficient daylight.
CONNECTING THROUGH A CIGARETTE LIGHTER SOCKET OR 12V POWER SOCKET
Connect power cable into the back of the unit, then connect the male adaptor into cigarette lighter socket or 12V power socket.
Ensure that the connectors at both ends fit firmly into their sockets.
CONNECTION DIRECT TO BATTERY
1. Cut off the cigarette lighter adaptor, strip the end of the wires bare.
2. Connect a 5 Amp inline fuse to the positive (white) wire.
3. Connect the wires to the battery ensuring that you match the black wire to the (-) post of the battery and the white wire to
the (+) post of the battery.
IF PERMANENTLY CONNECTED TO THE BATTERY
When permanently connected to the battery, the unit will not overcharge the battery of your vehicle or drain it at night, so you
may leave it plugged in at all times. You can start and operate your car safely even with the unit plugged in and safely
secured.
INDOOR
You may choose to permanently mount the unit to the front or rear dash of your vehicle by using self-tapping screws and the 2
molded mounting brackets provided at the back of the unit. Unless the unit is mounted solidly, it is recommended that the unit
be stored in a safe location (glove box, underneath seat) when the vehicle is in motion.
OUTDOOR
Important note: The BatterySAVER Plus is not weatherproof. A clear silicone sealant should be applied around the edges
where the glass and frame meet as well as on the power output jack in order to protect the unit from moisture, Failure to do
so will void the warranty. For outdoor permanent mounting, remember to ensure sufficient length of screws for a solid
installation.
1. LED not working: the LED can burn out after a certain time. Please check voltage output of unit with a multi-meter which
should read between 17 to 25 volts open circuit in full sunshine. In almost all cases where the LED may have ceased to light
up, the solar panel continues to work as it should and continues to trickle charge the battery.
2. The unit appears not to maintain the battery: A - Check that connections are solid. B - Pull out and Plug in again to ensure
proper contact. C - Verify that the cigarette lighter (or 12 Volt outlet) socket is electrically active when ignition key is in the OFF
position, if not, connect direct to the battery as described above.
Warning: Warranty will be voided if the unit has been dismantled, repaired or serviced by anyone other than service facilities
authorized by ICP or if fault results from accident, misuse, abuse or operation to the contrary to the instructions. A 5 year
warranty is given on the power output of the solar panel. This protection gives you assurance that, for at least 5 years, your
unit will generate at least 80% of the original power output. This warranty applies to the product from the original purchase
date. An original receipt must be retained for proof of purchase. Some states do not allow exclusion or limitation of accidental
or consequential losses, so the exclusions may not apply to your purchase. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and
you may have other rights which vary from one state (or province) to another. Toll free customer service 1-888-427-7652.
