Do you have a question about the Igloo FR832I-B-BLACK and is the answer not in the manual?
The Igloo refrigerator, available in models FR8321-B-BLACK, FR8321-B-WHITE, FR834IB-B, FR834C, FR1082, and FR1085, is designed for refrigerating, freezing, and storing food, as well as making ice. It is not intended for any other purpose.
The refrigerator features a freezer chamber for freezing food, storing refrigerated items, and producing a small quantity of ice. The cold-storing chamber is designed for short-term food storage and beverages, slowing down bacterial growth. It includes a vegetable casement for reserving vegetables and fruits, with a cover that controls temperature and prevents dehydration, also usable as a plate. Shelves are provided for organizing items, and the bottle plate can be moved or demounted as needed.
The inner lamp operates at 115V/60Hz and 10W, controlled by the door switch. The temperature regulator knob adjusts the internal temperature, with higher figures indicating lower temperatures. The compressor does not operate in position "0". For optimal performance, the freezer temperature should be set between -18℃ and -20℃ under normal room temperature. In summer, with higher room temperatures, the damper thermostats of the cooler can be set to position 3, while in winter, with lower room temperatures, they can be set to position 1.
When using the freezer chamber, it's crucial to check the packaging integrity and expiry date of ready-frozen food, ensuring it's stored at or below -18℃. Frozen foods should be exposed to minimal heat and placed in the home freezer quickly. Hot food or beverages must be cooled to indoor temperature before being placed in the chamber. Food should be packed in tightly sealed containers or bags to prevent loss of taste, color, nutritional value, and drying out. Suitable packing materials include polyethylene bags, aluminum foil, and freezing-proof containers, while wrapping paper, vellum paper, cellophane, rubbish bags, and used shopping bags are unsuitable. Air should be eliminated from packing containers, and food should be dated and labeled before freezing. During power cuts, the refrigerator doors should be opened as little as possible, and new food should not be added to avoid rapid temperature rise. Frozen food should not be handled with wet hands to prevent adhesion. Ice cubes can be made by filling the ice tray three-quarters full with cool boiled water and twisting it slightly for removal.
For the cold-storing chamber, food should be sealed or well-covered to prevent drying out, retain freshness, color, nutrition, and flavors, and prevent cross-tasting. Vegetables and fruits should be washed and dried before storage. Food should be cooled before being placed in the refrigerator. A space should be maintained between all foods for good ventilation and even temperature. Butter and cooking oil should not contact plastic parts or the inner liner. Drinks should be tightly sealed and placed upright. The cooler door should be opened for a minimum amount of time to prevent cold air leakage.
The refrigerator should be cleaned monthly. Before cleaning, disconnect it from the power supply. Avoid getting water into the inside light. Wipe inner and outer surfaces and accessories with a wet cloth; for stubborn dirt, use a neutral detergent. Accessories like egg shelves, trays, and vegetable covers should be cleaned. Lukewarm water with a little detergent or mild disinfectant is suitable for cleaning the entire refrigerator, except for the door sealing, which should be cleaned with clean water only and then dried thoroughly. The door sealing parts can be dismounted for cleaning. The compressor at the back of the refrigerator should be dusted with a brush at least once a year to prevent increased power consumption. Abrasives, acids, alkaloids, soap, hot water, brushes, banana oil, petrol, or high-proof alcohol should not be used for cleaning.
Defrosting the freezer chamber is a manual process. Before defrosting, remove food or temporarily place it in the cold storage. Set the temperature regulator to "0" to stop the compressor and leave the door open until ice and frost dissolve. Wipe off water with a soft cloth and then reset the knob to its original position. Do not scrape ice or frost with sharp tools, mechanical devices, or hot water, as this can damage the inner casing or evaporator surface. The cold-storing chamber defrosts automatically, with water draining into a container on top of the compressor and evaporating. Ensure the drain hole remains unblocked; if blocked, use sharp wooden bars to clear it.
When moving the refrigerator, it should not be declined more than 45 degrees or turned upside down. If the refrigerator is to be stopped for an extended period, switch it off, clean the interior, and leave the door slightly open for ventilation. Frequent stopping of use can decrease the refrigerator's lifespan.
