Overview

This document describes the Ignis AKL 907 GB oven, a versatile appliance designed for various cooking needs. It features an electronic timer for precise control over cooking duration and an oven function chart that details different cooking modes and their applications.

The oven's control panel includes a function selector knob, an electronic programmer, and a thermostat knob. The electronic programmer, a key feature, allows users to set the clock time, cooking duration, and end of cooking time, providing flexibility and convenience. The display shows the time of day, cooking time, and end of cooking time, along with indicators for various functions.

Oven Functions and Usage:

The oven offers several functions, each tailored for specific cooking tasks:

  • OVEN OFF: This is the default state when the oven is not in use.
  • LAMP: This function simply switches on the oven light, allowing users to monitor the cooking process without opening the oven door.
  • DEFROSTING: Ideal for thawing frozen food at room temperature. For best results, food should be placed in its original wrapping to prevent it from drying out during the defrosting process.
  • FAN/THERMOVENTILATED: This function is designed for cooking foods that require the same cooking temperature on one or more levels, such as fish, vegetables, or sweets. It allows for cooking without preheating and prevents odor transfer between different food items, making it suitable for preparing a complete meal simultaneously.
  • GRILL: This function is used for grilling steak, kebabs, sausages, cooking vegetables au gratin, and toasting bread. It requires preheating the oven for 3-5 minutes. During grilling, the oven door must be kept open. To reduce smoke and fat spatters when cooking meat, a small amount of water should be poured into the drip tray on the bottom level. Ideally, the meat should be turned during cooking to ensure even grilling.

Electronic Timer Usage:

The electronic timer enhances the oven's functionality by providing precise control over cooking operations.

  • Starting the Oven: When the oven is first connected to power or reconnected after an outage, the display shows "12.00".
  • Setting and Changing Clock Time: To set the clock, press "ok", then use the "-" or "+" buttons to adjust the hour and minutes, confirming each step with "ok". To change the time, press and hold "ok" for 2 seconds until the time flashes, then follow the same steps.
  • Selecting the Cooking Function: Turn the function selector knob to the desired function, then turn the thermostat knob to select the temperature. Press "ok" to confirm, and the oven will switch on. The indicator next to the temperature symbol will switch off once the selected temperature is reached. To change the temperature, simply turn the thermostat knob to a new setting. To cancel any selection, turn the function selector knob to "0" or press "ok" to switch the oven off while retaining previously selected functions.
  • Selecting the Cooking Time: This feature allows the oven to operate for a specified period, after which it automatically switches off. The maximum programmable cooking time is 6 hours. To set it, first set the function and temperature (without confirming with "ok"). Then, press "set" (the indicator next to the cooking time symbol will light up) and use "-" or "+" to select the desired cooking time. Confirm with "ok", and the oven will switch on, displaying the residual cooking time. To change the temperature during this process, turn the thermostat knob.
  • End of Cooking Time: This function allows users to preset when the cooking should finish, with a maximum setting of 23 hours and 59 minutes. After setting the cooking function and time, press "set" again to set the end of cooking time (the indicator next to the symbol will light up). Use "-" or "+" to adjust the time and confirm with "ok". The oven will automatically turn on at the end of cooking time minus the cooking time, and the relevant indicators will light up.
  • Minute Minder: This timer can only be set when the oven is not in use and allows a maximum setting of 6 hours. To set it, ensure the function selector knob is on "0". Press "set" (the indicator next to the symbol will light up), use "-" or "+" to set the desired time, and confirm with "ok". An acoustic signal will sound and "End" will flash when the set time elapses. Press "ok" to stop the signal.
  • Childproof Lock: To activate the childproof lock, set both the function selector knob and thermostat knob to "0", then press "ok" and "-" simultaneously for 3 seconds. The indicator next to the lock symbol will light up, and the oven functions will not operate. To deactivate, repeat the same sequence.

Maintenance Features:

While the document does not explicitly detail maintenance features, the design implies ease of use and cleaning. The oven's interior, including the grill heating element and rear oven lamp, is accessible for cleaning. The use of a drip tray during grilling helps contain fat spatters, simplifying the cleaning process. The electronic programmer and control knobs are designed for straightforward operation and are likely easy to wipe clean.

The Ignis AKL 907 GB oven is designed to be user-friendly, offering a range of cooking functions and precise control through its electronic timer, making it a practical appliance for everyday cooking.
