Electrical Requirements:
- Voltage: Exclusively designed for 220(230)V, 60(50)Hz.
- Transformer: For 110V operation, a step-up transformer (above 3Kw) is required.
- Extension Wire: If used, must have a capacity above 250V, 15A, and be no longer than 3m.
- Earthing: The unit must be properly earthed for security reasons. If the power socket lacks an earth rod, connect the earth wire to a bronze plate buried at least 25 cm deep in moist ground. Do not earth to gas pipes, telephone lines, or lightning conductors.

Usage Features
Installation:
- Location:
- Avoid direct sunlight.
- Ensure adequate air circulation.
- Keep away from excessive dust.
- Protect from mechanical vibration or shock.
- Ambient temperature: 5°C to 33°C (optimum 18°C to 25°C). If ambient temperature exceeds 30°C, suitable air-conditioning is recommended.
- Operating height: Below 2,000m.
- Operating moisture: Below 80% RH (below 57% RH if max operating temperature is 33°C).
- Allowance of supplying voltage change: Lower than 10%.
- Placement:
- Maintain a distance of 15cm or more between the wall and the backside of the unit.
- Install on a level and even floor.
- Ensure ventilation is not obstructed; the condenser grid must not be blocked.
- Install two spacer pins on the back of the freezer to allow heat dispersion.
Operation:
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord firmly into the power socket. Avoid connecting the unit with other appliances to the same socket. Ensure the power cord is not folded or pressed.
- Main Power Switch: Located at the rear of the product, next to the compressor. Switch to the "ON" position to power on the freezer. Switch to "OFF" when not in use.
- Setting Temperature:
- Turn on the circuit breaker (rear guard).
- All functions will be operational, and the internal chamber temperature will be displayed.
- Push the "Set" button once to check the current set point.
- Use the "Cursor" buttons to adjust the SET POINT.
- Press the "Set" button again to end the setting.
- Recommended Set Point: -80°C. This factory-set temperature ensures optimum conditions for prolonged life of the freezer.
Troubleshooting (General):
- Unit does not operate at all: Check power supply (230V), plug connection, temperature setting, unit location (not too close to heating object or wall), condenser filter, and main power switch.
- Loud running noise: Check if the floor is even. Identify if the noise is from the compressor (normal for freezer compressors to be louder than household refrigerators), fan motor (normal for air cooling systems), or expansion/contraction of parts (normal). Gurgling sounds from refrigerant flow are also normal.
- Ice formation on inside wall: Ensure samples are placed with distances for good ventilation. If samples contain moisture, put a top on them or wrap them. Check if the door is closed properly and reduce the frequency of door openings.
Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of the Ilshinbiobase Pocket Freezer Series.
Recommended Maintenance:
- Condenser Filter Cleaning: The condenser filter should be cleared of dust every month. This ensures adequate air circulation and prevents overheating, which can lead to reduced cooling efficiency and compressor damage.
- Door Seal De-icing: Ice should be removed from the door seals every month. Ice buildup can compromise the seal, leading to temperature fluctuations and increased energy consumption.
- Annual Maintenance Visit: A maintenance visit by a local dealer on an annual basis is recommended to ensure the unit is operating correctly and to address any potential issues proactively.
Preventive Measures for Common Issues:
- Room Temperature: If the room temperature is above +30°C, ensure proper ventilation and cooling to optimize performance.
- Compressor Oil: If the room temperature is under 0°C, the compressor oil may condense, which can negatively affect compressor operation. In such cases, ensure the room temperature is maintained at +5°C or higher.
- Excessive Dust: If there is excessive dust around the unit, clean the condenser filter and the front of the condenser to prevent compressor malfunction.
- Door Gasket: If the door gasket is not sealing properly, it can lead to ice formation and temperature instability. Regularly check and clean the gasket.
- Ventilation: Ensure proper ventilation by opening windows or using a ventilator to reduce moisture, which can accumulate inside the freezer.
By adhering to these usage and maintenance guidelines, users can ensure the reliable and efficient operation of their Ilshinbiobase Pocket Freezer Series units, protecting valuable samples and extending the lifespan of the equipment.
