The pump is always on, and in the event that it should seize, the rising water level in the reservoir will cause
a float to trip a microswitch, generating a FAULT signal used by the mainboard to deactivate the heating
elements.

Should the user forget to empty the tray, water will spill eventually through an overflow in the tray holder.
From here, the water is returned to the pump reservoir, where the level will then rise and ultimately trip the
float switch.
