Overview

This document outlines the procedure for replacing the harness buckle on Infasecure child restraints models CS4313 and CS4413. The harness buckle is a critical safety component, and these instructions ensure its proper replacement and secure attachment. Users are advised to read the instructions thoroughly before beginning the replacement process. Should any difficulties or questions arise, the Infasecure service department is available for assistance.

The replacement process begins with the removal of the restraint from the vehicle and the seat base cover. The seat should then be placed in the full recline position and turned upside down on a flat surface. On the underside of the seat, two metal plates will be visible, which serve as the attachment plates for the harness crotch buckle. If fitted, two small screws located in the top right corner of both metal plates need to be removed using a small Phillips head screwdriver and stored safely. These screws are referenced in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 of the manual.

Once the screws are removed, the metal plates can be turned sideways and pushed back through the slots in the seat shell, as shown in Fig. 3. This action releases the buckle from the seat, allowing it to be removed for washing or replacement. After the buckle is released, the seat should be turned upright.

To install a washed or new harness buckle, the metal plates must be passed through the slots provided in the seat shell. The manual emphasizes the correct buckle orientation, which is illustrated in Fig. 4 and Fig. 6. After the buckle is correctly oriented and the metal plates are passed through the slots, the seat should be turned upside down again.

The metal plates should then be laid flat in their sunken position. The two small screws previously removed must be replaced into the upper right corner of the metal plates using a small Phillips head screwdriver. This step is crucial for securing the buckle. Following this, the seat should be turned upright, and the seat base cover should be replaced, as shown in Fig. 5.

Once these steps are completed, the restraint is ready to be reinstalled in the vehicle according to the manufacturer's instruction manual. The document highlights that the harness buckle is an important safety feature, and proper replacement is essential for the continued safe use of the child restraint. The instructions are designed to be clear and easy to follow, with accompanying figures to guide the user through each step of the process.
