USINGVOICEREC OGNITION SYSTEM
Initialisation
The voicerecognition system will activate afew
seconds after the ignition switch is turned on.
Once activation is complete, youcan startusing
the systembypushing <

> on the steering
wheel and speaking voicecommands. If <

on the steering wheel is pushed before the acti-
vation completes, the display will show ames-
sage to wait until the system is ready.
BEFORE STARTING
To getthe best recognition performancefrom
the voicerecognition system, observe the fol-
lowing items.
•
Theinterior of the vehicle should be as quiet as
possible.Closethewindows toeliminate surround-
ingnoises(trafficnoise andvibration sounds, etc.),
whichmay prevent the system from correctly rec-
ognising the voicecommands.
•
Wait until the tone soundsbefore speaking acom-
mand.
•
Speakinanatural conversational voicewithout
pausing between words.
•
The voicerecognition system canonlybeoperated
in thelanguagesthatare supported by the voice
recognition system.
•
Available voicecommands mayvarydepending on
thelanguage setting.
•
Models with navigation system:
– The navigation system related commands
canonlybeused within the areawhere
the mapdataisincluded in thenavigation
system.
– To usenavigationsystem related com-
mands, the languagethatisofficiallyspo-
keninthe countryofthe destination must
be selected in the languagesetting. Des-
tination commands are mostly only avail-
able inthe languages thataremainly spo-
keninthe country.
