The radar sensors candetect vehicles on either
side of your vehicle within the detection zone
shownasillustrated. Thisdetection zone starts
from the outside mirror of your vehicle and ex-
tends approximately 10 ft (3 m) behind the rear
bumper,and approximately10ft (3 m)sideways.
WARNING

TheBSW system is not areplacement for proper
driving procedure and is not designed to prevent
contact with vehicles or objects. When changing
lanes, alwaysuse the side and rear view mirrors
and turn and look in the direction youwillmoveto
ensure it is safe to changelanes. Never rely solely
on theBSW system.
•
TheBSW system maynot provide awarning for
vehicles that pass through the detection zone
quickly.

The BSWsystem operates above approximately
30 km/h (20 MPH). When the BSWisactivated,
theside indicator light illuminates in yellow up
toaspeed of 30 km/h (20MPH). At speeds above
30 km/h (20 MPH),the indicator light goes out
and the BSWsystem is operational.
