Theradar sensors detection zone is designed
based on astandard lane width. When driving in a
wider lane, the radar sensors maynot detect ve-
hicles in an adjacent lane. When driving in anar-
rowlane, the radar sensors maydetect vehicles
driving twolanes away.

The radar sensors aredesigned toignore moststa-
tionary objects, however objects suchasguard-
rails, walls, foliage and parked vehicles may occa-
sionally be detected. Thisisanormal operating
condition.

The followingconditionsmay reducethe ability of
the radar to detect other vehicles:
– Severe weather
– Road spray
– Icebuild-up on the vehicle
– Frost build-up on the vehicle
– Dirtbuild- up on the vehicle

Do not attachstickers (including transparent ma-
terial),installaccessoriesor apply additionalpaint
near the radar sensors. These conditionsmay re-

Do notuse the BSWsystem when towing atrailer
because the system maynot function properly.
•
Excessive noise (e.g. audio system volume, open
vehiclewindow) will interfere with the chime
sound, and it maynot be heard.
