Never installarear-facing child restraint system
on thefront passenger seat without ensuring that
the front passenger air bag is deactivated. The ve-
hicle is equipped with an automatic front-passen-
gerfrontair bagdeactivationsystem.The PASSEN-

must be lit.
In afrontal collision, supplemental front-impact
air bags inflate with great force. An inflating
supplemental front-impact air bag could seriously
injure or kill your child.
•
Adjustableseatbacks should be positioned to fit
the child restraint system, but as upright as pos-
sible.
•
If the seat belt in the position where achild re-
straint system is installedrequires alocking de-
vice and if it is not used, injuries could result from
achild restraint system tipping over during nor-
malvehicle braking or cornering.
•
After attachingachild restraint system, test it be-
fore youplacethe child in it.Push it from side to
side and tugitforward to make sure that it is held
securely in place. The child restraint system
should not move morethan25mm(1in). If the
restraint is not secure, tighten the belt as neces-
sary,orinstall the restraint in another seat and
test it again.

If achild restraint system is not anchored prop-
erly,the risk of achild being injured in acollision
or asudden stop greatly increases.
•
Improper use of achild restraint system canin-
creasethe risk or severity of injuryfor both the
child and other occupants in the vehicle.
•
When the child restraint system is not in use, keep
it secured with the ISOFIXchild restraint system or
aseatbelt to prevent it from being thrown around
in case of asudden stop or accident.
•
In vehicles equipped with aside air bag system,
do not let any infants or smallchildren sitinthe
front passenger seatas the air bag maycause seri-
ousinjuryincaseofdeployment during acolli-
sion.
INFINITIrecommendsthatinfants and smallchil-
dren be seated in achild restraint system. You
should choose achild restraint system that fits
your vehicle and alwaysfollow the manufactur-
er’s instructions forinstallation and use. In ad-
dition,there aremanytypes of child restraint
systemsavailableforlargerchildren thatshould
beused for maximum protection.
CAUTION
Remember that achild restraint leftinaclosed ve-
hiclecan become veryhot. Checkthe seating surface
and buckles before placing your child in achild re-
straint.
CHILD RESTRAINT AND ISOFIX
INFORMATION
When selecting anychild restraint, keep the fol-
lowing points in mind:

(For Europe)Choose achild restraint that complies
withthelatestEuropeansafety standard, ECERegu-
lation 44.04.
•
(Except Europe) Choose achild restraint that com-
plies with UN Regulation No. 44.
•
Placeyour child in the child restraint and checkthe
various adjustments to be sure the child restraint
is compatible with your child. Always follow allof
the recommended procedures.
•
Checkthe child restraint in your vehicle to be sure
it is compatible with vehicle’s seat belt system.
•
Refer to the tables later in thissection for alistof
the recommended fitment positionsand the ap-
provedchild restraints for your vehicle.

or UN regulation no. 44 areclearly marked with the
categories such as Universal, Semi-universal or
