its cargoweight) to exceed the maximum set for
thevehicle andthe couplingdevice.See an INFINITI

The trailermustbeloaded so that heavy goods are
placed over the axle. The maximum allowable ver-
ticalload on the trailer hitch must notbe exceeded.
•
Have your vehicle servicedmore often than at the
intervals specified in aseparate maintenance
booklet.
•
Trailer towing requires more fuel than under nor-
malcircumstances because of aconsiderable in-
creaseintraction power and resistance.
Whiletowing atrailer,chec kthe engine coolant
temperature indicatortoprevent the vehicle
from overheating.
TYRE PRESSURE
When towingatrailer, inflate the vehicle tyres to
themaximumrecommendedCOLD tyrepressure
(for fullloading) indicated on the tyre placard.
Make sure the trailer tyre pressures are correct.
CAUTION
Do not tow atrailer when the vehicle is installed with
atemporary-usespare tyre.
SAFETYCHAINS
Always useasuitable chain between the vehicle
and trailer. The chain should be attached to the
hitch and not to the vehicle bumper or axle. Be
sure to leave enough slackinthe chain to permit
turning corners. The chain should not drag on
th
eground: passing the chain across the trailer
hitch maybethe best practicedepending on
your trailer.
TRAILERBRAKES

quired by local regulations. Also checkthatall
other trailer equipment conforms to local regu-

is not recommended.
TRAILER DETECTION
(where fitted)
When towing atrailer with an INFINITI Genuine
tow bar electrical kitand the turn signal switch
is used, the electrical system of the vehicle will
detectthe additionalelectricalload ofthe trailer
lighting. As aresult, the direction indicator tone
will be different.
INSTALLATION OF COUPLING DEVICE
